On average how many plants would it take to produce one lb of dried bud?
Here is a non sarcastic reply. There are too many variables to answer that question. Here is a tip, a decent grower should be able to average at least 1 gram per watt with a dialed environment and a proper canopy. Do the math.

I average 12oz from 2 plants in 5 gallon pots. I’m only in a 3x3 tent and mainly grow for my wife, so I’m not exactly shooting for excessive weight. Sure I could pull a lb from 2 plants, I just don’t have the luxury of vegging for a long period of time to pull it off.

Indeed simple math, but one false move in the growing environment will toss those numbers right out the window.
Lol, I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic. That's not a real equation and there is no math or numbers that will answer this question. Unless you're being sarcastic...and in that case I'm being sarcastic too
