Each one should be debated on it's merits, if they stood for something positive that was bigger them themselves and were liberals, that cuts them some slack. Like him or not, Winston shaped the modern world, so did Washington and Jefferson.

Yep Winston had his flaws, but he had a jewish guy rescue his finances because he was hopeless with money and the jewish community saw him as a savior. His personal secretary for many years was an outrageous queen, but Winston was quite liberal.

The problem is, Russia (and more importantly, China) are influencing US and Canadian culture from within it's most important institutions, Universities.

I'm not sure I buy into this ridiculous softening of our history by removing the things we saw fit to commemorate. We are giving ourselves a free pass and I think there is a better use for the symbols of our retarded beliefs at the time. By leaving them as a constant reminder of what the cost will be if we ever go back is a much better use of already available teaching tools.
