Cops don't have the training or mindset to work with people who are afflicted with drug addiction. Nor mentally ill. They are trained to deal with violent criminals. We need to cut police forces in order to pay the salaries of people who can safely deal with those situations.

George Floyd had a long record of violent offenses and he had already (DWI) and possibly was in the middle of committing a crime (he was behind the wheel of a vehicle, if the keys were in it, it was a crime). He had to be detained and he was not compliant so force was the only option.
