Grapefruit

Hello everyone,

I was eating a grapefruit a while ago and found a sprouted seed in it. I decided to plant the seed and see how it went. The seed sprouted and is now 2 months old and is three inches tall with 6 nodes. The lighting is a 70 watt HPS. Does anyone have any experience with grapefruit and have any info you would like to share? I don't have any pics to show but would love to see yours if you have a pic to show. Any comments post 'em up, thanks!

You should try to bonzai that thing. Are you growing your grapefruit indoors?

I not in an area where citrus can be grow outside so I can't help, even though I'd like to. I do know that some kinds of fruit trees can be made into bonzai to I'd check that out.

never grown a citrus, but used to have a neighboor with grapefruit trees. sorry cant be any help. i've got some lime seeds in rockwook now, been there for a while, dunno if they will sprout but i hope so. a dwarf key lime tree would be awesome, check this out

Grapefruit is looking pretty well just growing extremely slow. I decided to take it out from underneath the 70 watt HPS and put it in my veg box under CFL's. It is a little over 3.5 inches tall and i would like to LST it when it gets bigger. Does anyone have any experience growing grapefruit or have any tips? Thanks for you interest everybody.

The plant is doing well just very slow growing. Under CFL lighting, the plant is in a 9.5" X 9.5" pot. It is 6 inches tall and has about 11 nodes but is starting bust out more in the inner nodes. Here's some pics for yah

ive got 2 in at the mo along side 2 lemon, a WW and a BBC... what you wanna know ??

sativa genes tall and thin branches with few fan leaves and little to trim i would imagine (this is also my first grow with grapefruit. my 2 are 4 weeks in now so ill try n get a photo or 2 to show you (they are at the back of room though and it will be hard work)

^^^^Are you talking about grapefruit like the fruiting tree? Or the strain of marijuana? This journal is about like the grapefruit that produces grapefruits to eat.... If you got pics of that kind of grapefruit post 'em up. I would love to see some other grapefruit growers pics haha

I wonder how it would do if you put it in a sunny window for part of the day?

I'm interested in how this goes.

Sativa grapefruit, stoners, they always make me laugh.......and I'm one of them.....

I was thinking that too but since the pot it is in is quite large I thought that the CFL's would be fine. I like the indoor controlled environment anyway. Thanks for your interest though!
