Its a pretty budget set up right now I'm looking to upgrade once funds allow - currently running a 2x4 viparspectra grow tent with a giixer "1000w" LED rig, cloth pots with a 30% coco 60% FFOF medium, vivosun exhaust fan ducted to a carbon filter that i cant currently recall the name of. All in all with FoxFarms big 3 nutrients, ph up and down, cal-mag and ph soil/water testers the setup including seeds cost me around 700 thereaboutsThere like babies you just gotta give them all the lovewhat type of system do you have set up ?
I just gave them water last night until I saw some runoff, they do seem to be drying out pretty quickly as I have to water like every 2 days and soil looks dry after 12 hours, my light is about 16 inches above the plants
Make sure it is ‘true runoff’. With the fabric pots, water can just make its way from the top of the crusty dry dirt and roll down the side and out the bottom, and it will appear as runoff. Since you have a good amount of coco il imagine you won’t get overwatering problems from really giving the soil a soak. So that it expands outwards again, so I think you might want to increase your watering scedual, but not nessesarly the amount of water. Try to keep the soil always moist. So it doesn’t dry up and shrink. And become hydrophobic. To rehydrate you could also try to water from the bottom, put the whole pot into a big dish and let it soak up water from the bottom. For like 20min
Last tip, Take a long bamboo sqewer and push it all the way down to the bottom and leave it there. REmove occasionally to check the moisture levels throughout the soil medium. By feeling the toothpick with your fingers you can tell if it’s dry or moist.
