Gee girl there's others here on your thread that know much more than I do lol
Maybe hold of watering for a bit see if those leaves perk up or want to dry n die...
Yeah that is what we are doing. Usually I would have watered all of them by now. We take turns with the watering.
Last time they got a drink was on Sunday. I'm waiting until Friday to give them a drink. Theh were only getting watered every 3 days ... probably about 5 gallons worth. All the other plants are just thriving.
Oh and I know there is a ton of good advice in here that is why I posted. The only thing I can do is the process of elimination.

One year I had my roots grow through my small smart pot into the ground. I unknowningly tried to pick it up and move it, breaking roots. The result looked like your problem plant. The roots could be damage in a small area under the ground

I hope not. I will be cutting off a branch and dissecting tomorrow to find out. If that is the case.... the whole plant might get trashed and burned.
GG, is this plant in a pot or in the straight ground?

If it doesnt turn out to be stem borer, and it is planted in the ground, I've seen the same when I get root rot from the clay soil and too much rain, it acts like a bowl, and the roots on top look white and healthy, but everything on the bottom there, where there hadnt been a pool of water before, now floods or something, and rots the roots out. Just something that has happened to me before and I was stumped the whole time trying to fix it while she was growing, and it wasnt until I harvested and pulled out the root ball that I saw what happened. Just something to keep in mind, Hope you guys figure it out.. Good luck

If you cant figure it out and looking to try a hail mary long shot... Id try poking a couple holes as deep as I can to try and drain out the "bowl" or probe for any mole/gopher/etc. tunnels that have made their way under the pot. With a long piece of rebar or something.

It is in a 100 gallon fabric pot sitting on top of the clay.

Idont think you need to trash the whole plant, cut off bad part as long as stem looks good below the cut call it good. if you look close you will find the hole right below where a leave grows out of the stem a soft spot for the borer.

Okay maybe I was looking too far down. And its really thick in there so I will cut off a whole branch and take a razor and slice up the stem carefully and inspect. It can only be a few things but I will let you all know and seriously thank you for the help.

Btw... if it is that....is there any way to prevent those bastards from doing it again?

Not that I know, Only thing I've heard is using calcium/silica and any other measures taken to strengthen cell walls and stems.

So glad I've never had to deal with them *knock on wood*.

I know you did/do, you're one of the only people I hear that talks about using it.... Thats what I dont understand  Your cell walls should be bunkers.
Like I said I won't know if its it for sure until tomorrow. Seems like so many issues with these plants mimic so many other issues.

I've been using potassium silicate on the advice of a cannabis gardening blog I read and some additional research--and of course when I heard GG say she uses it that kind of sealed it for me.

Be curious to see what you find tomorrow. I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it. Hopefully most of the plant can be saved.

Get a hold of @nuggs. I think that he had a similar issue a few years back but it ended up being Russets. I don't wish them on anyone and hope that is not your issue.
