Got a cheap 320h-24a.. Opinion on strips?

I've been off the forum for years but finally getting back into the swing of things. Got my hands on a Meanwell HLG-320h-24a for $30 and want to put it to use. I know I limited myself with the 24a but it is what it is. I'd prefer to order from a U.S. source but may be open to Alibaba depending on shipping times. Before purchasing this driver I was leaning towards Bxeb gen 2's since they are pretty cheap but may not be the most efficient for this driver. Then there is the F series which is more expensive but requires less strips and utilizes the driver better. Bxeb's will require more heatsink and assembly time so in the end I know there will not be a huge difference in price but feel I'll get better light distribution.

These are the 2 strips I have been going back and fourth between the most but know there are more out there. Any input on ebex vs F series would be appreciated. I haven't went down the Alibaba rabbit hole but if you think there are better budget options out there let me know. Thanks

Mars Hydro ts 1000 and they aren’t paying me to say it either.Its small 150 watts,only 1.7 amps@120volts.

Sweet, Thanks Dude!!!! do I hook their driver to my driver for half the wattage and triple the lumens? I read that as long as I have home insurance I can hook up my driver backwards and in reverse, then 2-3 weeks later I'll get a big fat check mailed to my moms house. I knew there was a reason all the rappers put it in their mamma's name!!! This bag seed bout to make me rich!!

I have seen both of those. The H influx looks like it runs pretty hot but good lumens and the vesta has 1/3 less lumens at 2x the cost per board compared to the gen 2's. It's hot where I live so temperature is part of my reason for wanting leds. I could use resistors or dc/dc converter to increase my options but trying to keep this a mix of budget, efficiency, and some simplicity.

Has anybody on here run bridgelux gen 2's on a 24a turned down?

Not a bad option although I may be pushing it hard and happy w 12 of those. They seem to run pretty hot, any thoughts on heatsink? At that heat I may be willing to try maxing out the bridgelux gen 2's at 21v.


Found these while searching, any thoughts? seems every time I narrow down my choices I see something else. What do you think about 12 of these?

im running 16 of the bxebs on 2 240's. on max 495 they get a bit warm but not horrible at all. ill go see what the heatsink is i have two of the bxebs on each one i made a simple frame and im im loving it. my bxebs run at like 30 watts a pop.

yeah but what is your driver .. 240xx? mine is 24a so I can turn down to to 21ish volts but that still puts me at 14ooMA or a little more on each gen 2.. Heat wise I would be in the same range as some of the samsung boards test temperatures, but i would be pushing the gen 2's harder compared to samsungs closer to 24 volts matching my driver. I have read the gen 2's are extremely under rated to produce such low heat at test. They have managed at 1050 without heat sink so I was hoping to just use some aluminum flashing at 1400 to keep the temperature manageable.

Realistically i think the vestas are my best bet temperature wise but they definitely arent the most efficient. At that point this driver will be just for clones, seedlings, and veg for smaller plants

lol damn that heat sink is like 3-4x the cost of the strip. Ill have to test other budget friendly materials. I have a hand help Flir camera that was a couple hundred$ so I can use that to figure out any heat issues.

your smoking some good shit i hope lol. here think of this. each one of my bars cost a whopping 20 dollars if that. That can run 60 watts pretty nice and not be hot or close to max to what u can run. each of them u can prob hit 90 watts a pop for each bar. two 560mm Gen2 bxebs and a 24 inch for the heat sink. thats each bar.

what i would do in your place would be to get 6 of the heat sinks and 12 of the bxebs then use tslots for frame. utilizes your driver nicely. just gottaa spread the bars out for the area u wanna light.

You have 2 2ft strips on 1 piece of heat sink? Wouldn't it make more sense to just put each strip on its on !"x24" heatsink? I was smoking some decent shit but it may have been the rum and cokes that did me in. I was thiking you meant 1 2"x24" for each gen2 which would add up pretty quickly. I thought I came across a thread where someone was using the .6" heatsink. I'll have to look for it once I am done helping my friend move. Aprreciate the input!

The smallest heatsink I would’ve use is just about an inch wide each bxeb is 24 mm so on my 2 inch heatsink I can throw two on and run them decently hard
