Do Americans actually want universal healthcare?

I have a hard time pin pointing what I have seen in America but there really does seem to be a feeling of disgust when it comes to helping their fellow man. I have had many conversations with Americans about health care and what I hear more than anything is something along the lines of, "Well I am proud to take care of myself and I don't think we should take care of lazy people." That is what it really comes down to. I have tried to point out that America has more than enough money to take care of everybody and that our failed medical system actually costs us more. Tried to explain that by not taking care of the sick person the cheap way they end up going to emergency care and costing the tax payers 10X. Doesn't work, you will never get past the "They are lazy why should I take care of them." Doesn't matter that we have billion dollar weapon systems that don't work etc, it's all about their disgust with their lazy neighbors.

I would also like to point out one of the reasons that Americans are so freaking sick. Church of the capitalists have decided that feeding them cheap sugar cane and making mad profits is more important than eating healthily. Look at their outrage at what happened over a garden at the White House, lol. When people are doing things that are 100% against their best interests I call them meat puppets because capitalism is making them sound like Elmo.
Maybe quit talking to assholes and extrapolating that over the entire population of America?

Or at least point out that all the shit talking about our country you talk about is based on bullshit designed by a small portion of our society looking to keep their power under the disguise of 'Republicans'.

Thought that was understood. Yes it’s about a little less than half the country. Things don’t change unless you talk to the assholes though. Otherwise you’re in a circle jerk.

having an adult conversation is answering Questions before asking your questions to the other party. Trying to keep it focused and on topic is also helpful.
Okay then. I do not know what the average 40 year old pays for health insurance.

Do you think the average 40 year old has the right to make a choice declining to participate in something they prefer not to participate in or do you think it is okay to make them buy something "for their own good" and use a gun to make them do it if they further decline ?

Kind of like a thread about American healthcare with almost every post in here being by people who are from other countries without mentioning that the Democratic party has a platform of 'universal healthcare' for our country.

But I guess you missed my point about extrapolating those conversations to the entire population of America. I am all for talking to everyone, and especially people who are in a information bubbles that are desperately in need of understanding how they are under attack every time they log into whatever platform they use to communicate online.

According to this it seems to be about $280 a month https://www.thestreet.com/personal-finance/average-health-insurance-cost-14878894. for a 45 year old. I'm 50 and i just did my tax's yesterday and my yearly Medicare contribution (Levy) is $107. For the Year.....
Of cause i could choose a private health policy.

If that 40 year old gets care whenever they need it no matter if they are a homeless bum or a cocaine snorting party girl then yes. Majority of employed people work as an employee and the Medicare levy gets taken out of their tax refund every year. So its not even like they are having to physically pay a bill.

Its awesome value for money.

American politics must be fascinating to non Americans. They seemed consumed with it.

I’m sure I saw rob in another pot board like a decade ago crying the same old lines again and again, always about choice and taxes. Or perhaps they just pass of the same old bs as their own thought? Wish I remember which forum and handle. Amazes me that somebody can keep it up so long. Funny though that after a decade he’s still using the net and by all appearances hasn’t left the society he dislikes so much.

It is.
The pomp the ceremony. Always like a million flags at the rallies and conventions. Its like who has the most flags wins. Just a shame its so conservative. America used to be a forward thinking country at the for front of ideals and now its just a stagnant conservative shit sandwich spruiking the "we hate change cause were are scared of everything" type policy's.
Then you have Trump thats speeding up the what was a slow decline and has conditioned the population to accepting lies. Its really interesting to watch. Like watching the fall of Rome in many ways.
People are so brain washed by Murdoch and the mega rich that they dont even want things that would benefit them. Like Universal health care and livable min wages.
Its fascinating.

That’s what happens when people get too much money/power.

Society and government are two different things Strawman Freak.

You are easily confused, no doubt a reflection of your government school indoctrination.

Value is subjective. Also, I'm not trying to limit your enjoyment of your servility. I just don't want that imposed on me or other people who may object to it. What a thing which takes away choices costs. is less important than the taking away choices part.

But you have the choice to purchase private insurance. The systems work best when they are combined. In fact as the huge majority of hospitals are owned by the government private patients help with revenue.

no....Lots of countries with rich and powerful people. if you take a snap shot of Americas wealth and power (disregarding Murdoch who is the most powerful) then its very Liberal. Musk, Oprah, Gates, Bezos

When you say owned by the government, perhaps without meaning to, you speak in double entendre.

You do realize most of what the government "owns" or funds comes thru confiscatory means ? Whoops, where did the choice go?

Lol, now I’m 100% certain, same guy. Damn guy crying about the same thing for over a decade with the same lines. Puts a little smile on my face knowing you’ll spent the rest of your life crying about your taxes. I’m happy to pay mine. I prefer the taxes I pay in Japan more to the ones I pay in America but it’s obvious that America is heading more towards socialism which makes me happy too and I can only assume will make you more and more sad every decade.

I think America will head the opposite way. More fascist dictator type. Trumps already said publicly multiply times that if he losers he will contest- even years later. He wants to be Putin, XI, Kim. And the supporter base for that person is Trumps base.

You have to have more faith. I don't know if Trump will lose this election, I will never downplay his chances after the first one, but it actually would even make the end of the Republican Party come quicker if he won. Not that he would care because he is not a republican anyway, but they are tied to him now and they are going to take the hit. I'm not worried about his supporters. And the mod here will probably censor me again for saying this, but Americans are not a populace that you have to worry about. They pretty much are push overs. I don't see them taking to the streets and overthrowing governments and demanding change in any real force. American demonstrations are like demo-lite, half the calories. Bush 2 actually stole an election! What happened? Nothing. Not enough Kyles in the country to do anything.
