Why would you touch the fan leafs?or should i try to make the cut inside not affecting the fan leafs at all, never seen anyone doing this way but tought its a godd idea no??

all examples i found and were a lot on the net , people cut fan leafs together with the tip , because i did this tonight without touching them fan leafs and was a bit hard/small i guess thats why they do it . I never saw a fim example with left intact fan leafs , but once i was upon do it i realized that the fan leafs could be left intact and asked because of biology ignorance !Why would you touch the fan leafs?
