Defoliate?

Total newbs and we’re about to flip this week.

We thought our cabinet would be done by flowering time, but these babies are getting big & we need to flip (5 weeks old on Friday). No idea sex yet, so odds are we’ll get more space as they reveal themselves.

Do we need to defoliate? Any helpful hints on how and what to trim? Just want to make sure we give them the best shot at a successful flower.

Stinky you'll at least want to lollipop them by cleaning out the bottom third of the plant.

You could look at a real defoliation after that if you need it.

The leaves look quite like basil; FFOF soil, by chance? You may want to ride that out before flipping to flower. IMO

We’re growing in Mother Earth coco mix.

We water once a day - gave them a good drink yesterday since we just transplanted them a few days before.
We got 3 fans around it - it’s a little corner in the kitchen. Huge dehumidifier gets here today (for whole apt) so hoping that adds to it.

I should say- 1 fan on light. 1 fan standing near - pulling air away- 1 fan pointed down to the plants.

What do you mean by looks like basil?

The way the leaves are ruffled. They look similar to basil (not the overall shape, just the ruffled look).

We thought the reddish stems were a deficiency too, but have since been leaning towards the strain or something. It’s bag seed, so hard to tell.
What do you see making you think deficiency? Not to be dense, just training my eye! Thx

There's discoloration in the fan leaves. Yellowing.. and not from the edges.. it's from the inside out.

How much water do you give them?
What size pots?
What kind of water do you use?
Do you ph? if so what are you PH'ing to?

Gotcha. I know he just got a calmag with iron, so I’ll let him know to see if we can adjust. Thx!

they are all in 3-gal fabric pots. Coco mix. PH between 5.5-5.8.
We were out of town for 4 days, and they MAY have gotten a double watering yesterday (pet sitter might have watered- we watered when we got home). Can we just let them dry out a bit today?

We also give around a gallon to 1.5 amongst all 6.

That's why I was thinking it's been overwatered, leaf's do look ruffled, blotchy , thick, and that yellowing is a sign of it also, because it's not uptaking the nutrients proper. Just thing's I have noticed in the past, and was fixed by adding more perlite and air to the pots and not watering so much corrected it straight away

yea let em dry out completely before watering or feeding again. You want them to be in the best health for blooming. Also can we get a look at the nodes? Let's try and sex these suckers lol
