Has anyone seen these lights before?

Nope. Led just keeps advancing in huge steps. Would love to know how warm those run and how much clearance is needed. Could you imagine a tent that had those built into it on five sides?

The lumafilm looks interesting. No heat sink required. Curious if they are developing something in that line that could be used for growing. Lumen output seems to low but I don't know enough
they do...if you click on "products," there's a link that leads you to their "grow film."

I thought the growfilm were on what they are called "blades", is that their version of a heatsink?
no heat sink. it seems like they're a LED who's diodes are smaller, and dont emit heat. so you can have it right close to the plant w/o any light burn. can light up from the bottom and sides, and they claim it increases yield by 20%

Sorry there is nothing magical or new here. Lots of diodes on a PCB and if you are sending 560W to that thing there is going to be heat, 560W of heat.

they claim no heat. and that you can have the lights an inch away from canopy. its on the latest Growcast pod....if you want to get it from the horse's mouth. sounds neat tho

I have worked in the electronics industry for over 20 years. There are no magical diodes that do not produce heat and ultimately all light becomes heat as well. If you can invent that it would be like Star Trek level shit (clear aluminum LOL) and you would be wealthy beyond measure.

I'd also be very sceptical with claims like that. When ever you add more light you should be adding more yield regardless of tech, so it isn't unique to side lighting or led. I'm not so sure ''under'' lighting would be a good idea either. They will give off heat and you don't want that near pots.

None the less every company tries to have selling points in order to stick out from the crowd. Can't blame companies for that but it usually ends up in lies.

Naw I heard that ep on the growcast. I stopped after like 15 min.m because their bs was so bad. Like basic high school physics bad. It’s the definition of snake oil. Watts no matter what produce the same heat. Whether IR, light,...it all ends up as heat eventually.
