Do you use supplemental UVB light?

Hello all. Do you use UVB supplemental light? What do you use, how many watts, for how long? I am thinking of adding uvb to my 4x4 tent and looking for input.

My 1000w led light comes with 40 Watts of UVA, on when the light is on.

No UVB or UVC.

I use uva gradually when i flip to flower for the full on cycle and i do 3 10-15 minute bursts during the peak of the day with uvb

What do you use for the UVB? I am looking to add it the last few weeks of flower in a 4x4 tent.

I use this in a 2ft by 4 ft tent https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002F5544/?coliid=I2DMX3I3GMRJLY&colid=AW7UKM9ED6GM&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it ad see a noticable improvement in taste and potency even in a T5 grow. I have tried reptile bulbs but had to keep them 24 inches away from the plant to prevent burning and saw no difference in outcome using uva bulbs that could be kept close to the plants. https://journals.ashs.org/hortsci/view/journals/hortsci/53/10/article-p1429.xml studies like this found good results using 365nm diodes so I picked up 10-lg3535 365nm and 10 385nm diodes with an adjustable driver to see if they can replace UV bulbs. the diodes arrived this week and when I have time I will add them to my 660nm poontoon

Thanks. I have a UVA light but read uvb 290 nm is what I am looking for. I may just add both. Just wondering about the how strong a uvb light to use and for how long.

Also used reptile bulbs and saw no improvement.

Currently using 280nm LEDs for UVB in addition to UVA on a DIY fixture.
2x2 area.
The datasheet for the LED says 35mw of of UVB output at the levels I'm driving it but with the heat sag its more like 20mw.
Timer is on for 1 hour a day spread out over 4 hours around peak.
I also manually zap the plants if I am in the house and can watch for burns.
They can take a lot once they're used to it.

Look into solacure. I used it once and I liked it. I have another bulb, but I'm waiting for another time to use it. The terps were nice and the potency was good. I used it on a clone from a previous harvest, and I'd recommend it. Not a "must have" by any means

A friend of mine is running solacure as well and he sent me this pix.
I've been trying to do the same with LEDs ever since.

So it would be easy to tell which bud is which if you grew some with and without uv?

for Me with the strains I grow yes I could tell by a quick glance however I’m not saying the effect is universal I imagine some strains may not show as dramatic of a difference

Here is a good thread for UVB. I Have a few Solacure 2’ lamps and bulbs I got at a good deal from Dennis at Solacure. Great guy. The bulbs were mistakenly printed “Solarcure” so I got them for 1/2 price. Really, read nearly impossible to get replacement ballasts for the 2’ if you go that route. In the end I decided to add Acadia 14% UVB lights because I can hang them At the same height as the main LED lights. I also supplement with UVA diodes on another channel

Does it make sense to run the UV at the end of the lights on cycle? So thy can repair themselves during lights off?
