EM-1

Anyone used it as an effective, organic botrytis preventative?

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Have tried an OMRI potassium spray which was virtually useless. Also couldn't spray once buds had started forming.

Also trying to find a biofungicide for foliar application with Bacillus as the main component. The ones I can find in Australia aren't approved for foliar application. Only as a soil application. (Serenade Prime)

regalia by Marrone bio.
or garden friends fungicide by southern ag
Sorry, should have mentioned they're unavailable. Seems Monsanto / Bayer control the market here. Pretty frustrating to be honest, nothing else seems to be approved for sale here. At least domestically.

Think EM-1 seems to be the go. It's available in 1lt size and makes up to 1000L. They recommend using a surfactant for better application, which i figure i will pass on. Recommended to apply evening or dawn. Apparently better absorption when humid and moist.
Seems just right for my circumstances.

I'll attach links and a safety data sheet. If anyone sees something i'm not, please say. Otherwise i'll resurrect this thread in 6 months or so and report my experience using it.

Cheers.

Serenade Opti + is the one designed to be applied as a foliar

I had a look at that but I couldn't see anything related to it being a control measure for any fungal pathogens ?

I didn't include the link. Thanks for picking that up.

Beautiful! Thanks a lot. I'm gonna try my best to get that one. Seems just what I need.

That's a bummer. I don't think it's option, it'll leave visible residuals on the foliage.

Safety data sheet:
I've just been going mad trying to find all these options. Serenade opti looks to only come in massive 5kg bag too. $300 per bag.

Did you find anything local? I found "Bud Rot Stop" but only online but could not find what it contained other than a forum comment mentioning bacillus subtilis.

Seems like there is bugger all available in OZ

Did the EM-1 work for you? Did you trial it? Where you using it as preventative? I'm currently looking for something to fight some existing botrytis (grey mould of some sort) but being a noob with bigger buds I was wanting to start looking at all the preventative measures moving forward.

I was adding bokashi to compost teas and stopped doing it near the start of flower, so not sure if that would have helped? I was foliar spraying the tea too. Which in hindsight I probably did too late into flower and also possible cause! Would have most likely been okay if I had better airflow....

I do have the EM-1 that I was going to inoculate some bran for bokashi, so hoping I can use this as some what of a savior. the outbreak has only been on a several sites and has been removed when seen but freaking out on how many more botrytis trojan horses remain inside other colas.

In the meantime I had H202 on hand and used a very diluted foliar spray of that.

I'm now also looking at a plan for the dry to mitigate further carnage. So perhaps EM-1 Pre-harvest could help fit it? All hopeful thinking but grateful for any further info or experience you've had with EM-1 and if you've found anything else.

I saw you were also looking at using calcium as foliar. Looking into this also. Sounds promising and Keen to try in the future but I would say that's too late for me with 1-2 weeks, if I can wait that long.
