Pneumonitis isn't pneumonia and in this case it's more an allergic reaction and would be treated as such. But he's not inhaling it (unless he got a dose of the powder from the blender).

The worst allergic experience of my life had me looking in the mirror not recognizing myself.
Eyes swollen shut. Head to toe I was swollen. Itching everywhere until I would bleed from the scratches.
All from some edibles I made with some of that "organic" outdoor cbd hemp bud from Oregon. I think I undercooked it but it could of just been the batch. 3-4 hours of living hell. My face was still swollen the next day even with benadryl.
