• Fox News reports that Palin didn't know Africa was a continent and did not know the member nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement -- the United States, Mexico and Canada -- when she was picked for vice president.
• The New York Times reports that McCain aides were outraged when Palin staffers scheduled her to speak with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, a conversation that turned out to be a radio station prank.
• Newsweek reports that Palin spent far more than the previously reported $150,000 on clothes for herself and her family.
• Several publications say she irked the McCain campaign by asking to make her own concession speech on election night.

I am conservative. I did not vote for Senator McCain. He is way too liberal for my tastes. I did defend Senator McCain and Governor Palin on occasion. But I do not remember ever swooning over anybody.

Sarah Palin is not an idiot. She got a bad rap from the news media, the press, Saturday Night Live, late night comedians, Doonesberry, and the angry Left in general. I will agree that she was unprepared to be on a Presidential ticket.

But if she is an idiot, so is Joe Biden. He didn't catch a lot of flack for saying FDR appeared on television as President in 1929. Imagine if Governor Palin had said that.

Imagine the uproar if Governor Palin had said this instead of Joe Biden:

How much taxpayer money has Biden used to fly his family to events they weren't even invited to? How many of Bidens teenage daughters are pregnant while he touts a tough stance on sex education in schools? How many new outfits did Biden buy with taxpayer dollars for the campaign? How many radio hosts managed to get him to fall for a fake interview, and god damn, the first time I heard that, I could tell right away from the fake voice and line of questioning that she was being mocked, but hell no, Palin couldn't pull her head out of her ass long enough to figure it out.
