How many plants in 4'x4' Tent

Hey y'all,

So I just bought a 4'x4' Gorilla Grow tent.

My main focus is maximizing harvest YIELD potential.

I'm wanting to use a hydro or aero setup, but haven't decides on what type of system.

My main question is:
Realistically, what's the max amount of plants I should try to grow simultaneously to ensure maximum yield? Also, which hydro/aero system would be best for my scenario?

Side note: I'm still very new to hydro growing. I currently have a top drip dwc setup in a 3x3 tent that I designed and built myself, but it's garbage and I'm not a super "handy" kind of guy.

Thanks everyone!

DWC is easy, no handyman needed

But as most people ask how to get good yield, that takes experience more than anything

I've had one plant in my 4x4 and got 14oz
Had 5 plants got a bit more

So totally depends on the growers experience more than anything

Gotcha. I've been reading reviews for these DWC kits on Amazon, and people keep saying that it's really difficult to change out the water when it's needed every 1-2 weeks.

Would you happen to have a link to either a complete system for purchase that you would get for this scenario, or a proper DIY? I'm not super handy and have hardly any tools.

Thanks so much!

5gal Bucket
Net pot lid
Air pump
Air stone

That's it

I use GH Flora Trio, hydroguard and z7, calimagic with RO water. Add liquid koolbloom in flower...easy peasy

For water change
Xtra bucket
Lift lid with plant, place on empty bucket
Clean old bucket, fill with nute water, out back in tent
Lift lid with plant onto bucket

Done
Awesome advice! Thanks so much!

Side note:
Have you heard of a Waterfall RDWC system? Is that kind of system beneficial for growing cannabis? Is there really any DWC system that's more efficient at producing higher yield/harvest amounts?

Easier DIY hydro that works...

True
Hempy is really easy..grew that way for years

RDWC is not a way to start out in my opinion. The rezz can be challenging to keep stable for all the plants growing
Single buckets are much easier to control

There are buckets on Amazon with a blue tube to measure water in the bucket. Those are a good starting setup, like $40 each

With this kit the water drips around the top of pot from the airline you connect

If you don't have hydroguard, a cheaper similar product would be SOUTHERN AG Garden Friendly Fungicide.
DWC has less equipment pieces that could malfunction.
I'm a big fan of the rapid growth from hydro but wish I never started IME. If you are doing hydro for yield alone I would advise coco. Water temps in DWC are critical and you can't get through a hot summer without heavy AC or a water chiller. You want it to stay pretty damn cool so temperature control is a big deal to avoid Pythium root rot. You will grow better herb in soil or a cocomix IMO. Other than having an autoimmune disease, I don't see any reason to shy away from soil or a coco mix. My greed turned me to DWC and I regret it.

adding my 4 x 4 to my space and plan to run 4 comfortably. have 1 monster ready to chop saturday in a 2 x 4 but i had her in veg for 3 months so if you keep your plants smaller 4 would be ideal.

I almost always run 4 in my 4x4...SCROG previously, 6 mainline this time and it already looks like it will get too crowded..

Here are 4 I’m moving out of their 2 x 2 (actually 7, I have 3 more seedlings posted up on one of the buckets. moving these on Saturday into the 2 x 4 then when it gets a bit colder it’ll be ready to get the 4 x 4 up. my small space runs 2 tents now but should be good to get the 3rd next month or so, just too hot in summer + adding lights not a good thing for dwc in already warm temps..hope to slay it in the winter though!

Which plant do you intend on chopping?
