Web looking Material

I was inspecting a huge bud today and notice a brown leaf on it .Knowing about bud rot I tore into the bud to inspect. Looked like deep inside next to the stem there was a web looking Material white in color? But the bud so far was really bad just wanted to inspect. Any ideas? Thanks

Thats bud rot. It's looks white and fuzzy in the early stages. Think moldy strawberries. Same type of mold. Unfortunately it usually affects the biggest buds first. Look carefully at all the other buds. If you see any more you are going to have to cut off the bad areas and harvest immediately. If not none of the final product will be safe for consumption.

well, it COULD be bud rot, or a small spider inside your bud, or a small infestation of spider mites that will get bigger, or even insulation or a cottonwood-pollen that stuck to your bud. Share a picture and we can help figure it out. bud rot definitely is a risk, as you found it near the brown leaf, but bud rot for me has always started as a dark mass inside the bud, not white. And Powdery mildew, our other favorite fungus, usually doesnt start inside just one bud but all the way up and down where fat buds rub the stem (or white patches on the leaves obviously) But dont start chopping things out until you figure out what it is,every year in my outdoor i find 2-3 spiders that built a home in my buds and were helping them to stay healthy (from moths aphids etc)

It wasn't a dark mass inside you just caught it late. Bud rot starts out fuzzy white. Ask me how I know.

Dude you hadn't even seen a picture and you're telling him to chop?

This is straight up bad advice based on nothing.

Can you read?? I said to inspect the rest of the plant and if he sees bud rot he needs to chop. How is that bad advice ?? Without a picture and with his description I suspect bud rot.

I said what I said and stand by it 110%. Don't give out advice or diagnosis based on zero facts. You've seen nothing to indicate anything. Conversation over. Good day.

Do you have a picture of what you're describing?

I've had bud rot before my friend.

Starts in the biggest buds and appears white and fuzzy, then turns grayish. Thats common knowledge and consistent with what the op described. Was just trying to help the guy out truly. Moldy bud is dangerous.Screenshot_20200923-151143_Samsung Internet.jpg

Okay I was a bit harsh in my original post. It didn't sound as bad in my head but reads bad. I'll own that.

We just need more info, I don't want to unintentionally mislead newbs or even seasoned vets into an early harvest situation.
