Very nice. That reminds me, I've some lights I need to put together.

Did you have a practical reason for going with "B" version drivers for the flower lights and "A" version drivers for the veg fixtures? Or was that just what was available at the moment?
I run my flower lights in parallel and at 100%. My veg fixtures are run in series. I've built a few qb288 rspec lights, so i know what footprint of a fixture I like to run. I may end up putting potentiometers on the "b" drivers, but I like for everything to mirror my other flower fixtures. This is my first qb120 build and wasn't sure what the light spread and output was going to be, so i got the "a" drivers so I didn't have to worry about wiring in a pot.

Its merely an estimation based on the specs for the 650R. It did max out my LUX meter though lol! I'm probably on the conservative side. The 650R
is rated at 1770 PPFD at 650 watts. 480 watts is about 75% of 650. That would be 1327.5 PPFD . I've dimmed my light to 400 watts so I should be in the 1000 -1100 PPFD range

How're you measuring the PPFD? Just curious.
Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your thought process.

Are you able to adjust the wiring on your veg fixtures driver input so the outer jacket of each cord fits into the strain relief area of the 3 way connector? Or is the connector too small?

If that can be done, the connections will be more secure from coming loose and the IP rating of the connector should be intact.

I can redo it if I want to. My drivers hang 7 feet off the ground outside of the grow rooms. Idk why i dont just use wagos on them. All meanwell drivers i have worked with, have the black sheath cut top short. I leave them this way because there is really no need to have them waterproof. I may end up going back when I'm bored and do that and install junction boxes on all of my lights to clean wiring up a bit.

I think he is referring to these although I could be wrong.

Yup, u got em both. The white plastic bridges or enclosures on the front, & the black plastic / vinyl / whatever connecting the driver on the back. Based on what u guys are telling me, both kinda serve the function of conduit? Protect / enclose the connections & conductors? I thought initially the conductors / insulation themselves might be beefier. I’d like to protect the connections against accidental rough treatment, such as HLG does on the commercial/ non-diy models like 600 R.

No matter the latitude, sunlight is powerful. Spectrum may change some because of the angle of entry, but it still does the same job. I've a friend who lives north of the Arctic Circle who grows in a greenhouse attached to his cabin. He grows autoflowers because his season is so short. Yet he grows some mighty fine weed. I sent him some red wigglers to start a worm farm with.

The pics he posts are stunning!
I'd like to see, I'm also up here. Red wigglers would be amazing. Nightcrawler types here go deep.

I have been noticing that HLG has been running out of stocks quite frequently these day. I ordered one of the Horticulture Lighting Group lights 2 months back and yet to receive the shipment for it
if its from that shop that you linked to, they don't look to be an HLG authorized retailer. i have always just bought from HLG directly on their own site. if you can't do that for some reason here are the official resellers:
