some sobering statistics:

"Total household retirement savings among all workers is $50,000 (estimated median). Baby Boomer workers have the highest retirement savings at $144,000, compared with Generation X ($64,000) and Millennials ($23,000) (estimated medians). The proportion of workers having saved $250,000 or more increases with age: 13 percent of Millennials, 25 percent of Generation X, and 40 percent of Baby Boomers. In contrast, the proportion of workers who have saved $1 to less than $50,000 directionally decreases with age: 38 percent of Millennials, 27 percent of Generation X, and 18 percent of Baby Boomers. Of concern, one in 10 workers (10 percent) report having no retirement savings, including 12 percent of Millennials, nine percent of Generation X, and seven percent of Baby Boomers."

It's scary how many folks don't have any savings. I'm not in those dire straits but I was just thinking about my situation this morning. You can't help but do the math of the what if's. My wife has a great retirement, but she also has a genetic disease that is getting progressively worse, and may require a nursing home one of these days. So the if and when of her getting worse will be the biggest influence of our economic health.

Unless we find a marker for prickly pear. Then we will be rich.

Speaking of getting old, I'm a few days away from my 1/2 birthday. My cousin is exactly 18 months younger than me, so when we were kids, I would always get a "half birthday" present on her birthday, and she would get one on mine.

So later this week I will have six more months of enjoying my 50's.

Just FYI. If your retirement plan is a 401K? The orange bafoon just made them fair game to the banks. Looks like those are about to be skimmed to nothing like our pensions are being subjected to. My $1200/ month pension is now down to under $300. And 11 years until I can get it. Be worthless by then. So look into your situation. That legislation went unreported. And pay everything off before retirement. Work your whole life just to have everything legally stolen. Best wishes and a comfortable retirement for all.

I'll be 66 in a couple weeks and don't take any pharma drugs. 5'8" and 140lbs. Wake up with a rock hard dick every morning and get 3 or 4 BJs every week or rub one out on my own for at least a load a day. Long red hair down my butt, smoke 20 cigs of home grown 'baccy a day and have 3lbs of pot on hand at all times.

I never ever eat at places like McPukes or Dairy f'n Queen. Just took my dog for a run around our dugout at 7am. A good mile.

Don't be a pussy but eat as much as you can get!

:peace:
