Do you have concreate floors. Usually they wick heat. Mine stay anywhere between 5f - 8f cooler than the ambient air,Is there anything electric that I can buy to set my 12" wide dewey mister cloner on to cool down the water?? I would just need to lower it by 5 degrees. Cloner holds about 2 gallons of water.
Yeah i have concrete floors which lower the temps a few degrees. Just been having problems with my clones since my basement has been warmer.. Its been 65 during the day here and 50 at night and I don't have my air on so the basement gets warmer and runs 78-79.Do you have concreate floors. Usually they wick heat. If your worried about root rot, you can just put a few tablespoons of 3% peroxide in the water every time you change it out and that is usually sufficient.Yeah i have concrete floors which lower the temps a few degrees. Cuttings have taken longer to root bc of the high temps lately. Air is not on in the house so the basement gets no air.For a small volume of water like a cloner you could use an ICE Probe. You will want a temperature controller to kick off the ICE Probe when the temps get low enough.
Not sure if I want to spend $175 for something I'm gonna use 1-2 months out of the year... Any other cheats to drop the temp? For a small volume of water like a cloner you could use an ICE Probe. You will want a temperature controller to kick off the ICE Probe when the temps get low enough.
Well I guess you could do the frozen bottle of water trick, change it out every few hours. Not sure if I want to spend $175 for something I'm gonna use 1-2 months out of the year... Any other cheats to drop the temp?
Is your air pump running 24/7? Both the pump and friction of the bubbles can increase temps. Put it on a timer for like 3 min on / 15 off
Dewey mister only holds 1.75g of water, not sure this will work... Only having a hard time cloning when air isn't on in the house this time of the year and basement is in the high 70's... Once it gets colder outside in a few weeks and this winter when basement is around 70 degrees i bet i have an easier time cloning... Took 8 clones 2 weeks ago and 1 died and 5 rooted, 2 undecided still. Water looks a pinch slimey bc of high temps, not slimey but you know.Well I guess you could do the frozen bottle of water trick, change it out every few hours.
