Purple leaves? Normal?

It’s a genetic thing. Some strains are prone to purple out, some red, some pink. Cooler temps seem to induce it more, but isn’t the only way it happens. You’re good
Alot of folks keep saying that but generally its a phosphorus deficit. Brought on by cold, lack of nutes or a lockout.

Not to say it can't be genetic but most of the time thats not the case.

It is genetic. You can induce the trait to show itself more prevalently by reducing your temps. You'd have to be doing something seriously wrong to get that colour via phosphorus deficiency, and you can tell from the plant, that simply isn't the case.

You do realize that lower temps restrict phosphorus uptake causing that "trait" right?

Yeah.. that's just simply not true at all. It's a signal to the plant to finish flowering. The same reason you see this purple colouring when you switch to 12/12 and the anythocyanin runs riot. That is what causes the colour. It's a chemical within the plant, that is present or not present, in varying degrees of abundance... based on.. wait for it.. genetics.

Cool. You keep growing with phosphorus deficits and il keep fixing mine.

I do believe you are correct about the phosphorus deficiency, I went thru the article you posted and it mentioned leaves twisting and that’s what’s happening as well. I do have pk13/14 would added some to my next watering help?

It absolutely depends on why its happening. To determine that we need to know everything about your environment. Medium grown in, nutes given and the dosages of them as well as the schedule.

Lights used and so on.

I’m in a 2x4 tent in mothers earth cooc/perlite 70/30 and I added more perlite so it’s closer to 50/50. using canna coco nutes 10ml of a+b per gal plant takes about 1/2 gal per day I water till runoff in a 2 gal fabric pot. Water ph is 5.8 every time I water. lights are 1 sf2000 about 20 inches from the top of the plant. Lights on at 530 pm off at 530 am. Temps are 78-80f, 45-50% rh lights on, 74-75 lights off. 2 oscillating on 24/7,1 exhaust fan on 24/7, small intake fan that turns on when temps reach above 80. Tent runs in a vacuum. week 8 or 9, closer to 9. lmk what you think

I do believe I said strain and low temp isn’t the only way it happens. Outside of the purpling the plant looks fine. Could it be all the things you mentioned, absolutely. Anything is possible. I just wasn’t gonna blindly offer advice when no information was given about his grow prior to my comment other than temperature.

I guess my issue is that last little part where you advised him "he's good".

Seems like blind advise imo.

Well I’m gonna leave it at that. Not gonna start a useless debate over who’s right or not on someone’s thread. Hopefully he follows your advice and tries to combat a potential phosphorus deficiency. Hope everything works out and the plant does well Ezstreet.

Not doing much, I’m close to harvest just trying to get to that point, I upped the pk alittle we‘ll see how that goes. Thanks for your help man

Been there before. It’s phosphorus. I’ll show you the same strain twice. One got phosphorus lock out during flip to 12/12. The other actually turned purple during flower due to genetics and was green all the way through veg and 12/12 until the 6th week of flower. Same exact strain Girl Scout cookies forum cut

I know my plants need more feed when the purpling starts climbing up my stems. The day after feeding they're all back to green.
