Yesterday was Friday and you know what that means.
Brown foam and bubbles on top of my reservoir. Meh.

Roots continue to haunt my sleep. and I'm still using the Hygrozyme. We know there is root rot and all I do is pray and do my best to fight temperature even when the air outside is barely 60F. Temps still range in the upper 80's during the day, despite the cooler fall weather.
The reservoir was holding PH great all week but since I made a res change it has been fluctuating. I've also noticed the brownish foam/bubbles on the surface of the res are back. Not nearly as bad as before but still present. I'm sure the ladies will finish flowering to maturity without a hitch but the fact remains that things could have been better for sure.
It's become more apparent that 2 of my Wedding Cake plants seem a little skimpy. Here are the roots on one of them right now.

STOP USING HYGROZYME IN RDWC!
RIGHT NOW!
Shit is a fucking trainwreck in deep water culture!
If you want healthy roots in Eden, there's 2 things to do; waterfalls (fuck airpumps and stones) and keep your water temps below 75F, below 70 is even better.
That's it. No need to get fancy pants with it; doing so will just fuck things up.

Just to be clear when I started this thread I used the abbreviation RDWC incorrectly because I am an idiot. I grow in ebb and flow. But I expect your advice will be the same. My reservoir temps are below 70 consistently, actually between 66 and 69 most of the time.

I see no reason for you to use hygrozyme at all. Once I quit using it, I had better results.

Never really figured out what happened. My guess is I had root rot, didn't clean good enough between grows and it came back but not as bad as temps were progressively lower. I just harvested, cleaned the buckets and swept up well. Ive been running a UVC bulb in the room on and off today and I am disinfecting the lines with H2O2. Lets see what happens next grow.

OK, who wants a giggle. Full disclosure, I'm an idiot. Let me start by insirting a diagram of my ebb and flow lines as I probobly should have started this thread with, along with the title "Ebb and Flow" not RDWC....but I digress.
The 2nd one is just to show you that it took me more than a single attempt to draw a simple diagram because I've been sampling a little too much of my own garden.
Anywho, please notice, for those of you who like a conundrum, the buckets marked with a "D" meaning dirty. (God, I'm so stupid) Well. the floor is concrete and not entirely level. It's not like the Nuerburgring mind you, its more Silverstone. As if you were in a Morris Minor.
Then the light came on for a moment and I said aloud, "they must be dirty as they are the lowest?" Not really sure if that's true. However to be 100% specific, the entire system had been broken down and thoroughly cleaned sans the inside of the tubes so I filled a bucket with hot water and lots of H2O2 and dumped about a quart or so in every one of the 12 buckets and proceeded to watch it bubble like a 5th grade science experiment minus the red food coloring, It was actually brown....... like the color of brown M&M's........ Eddie Van Halen....... Eddie Van Halen is dead.....
So I'm not sure I learned a tremendous amount from what all started as a roots issue but I've gotten a tremendous amount of great advice and I thank you all.
