Interesting, I would trust that site over the one I have been looking at which gives different info. This gov site you posted says

"Mainers can grow marijuana for personal use. As many as three mature, 12 immature plants, and an unlimited number of seedlings are allowed per resident 21 years of age or older.
These restrictions do not apply to the cultivation of marijuana for medical use by a qualifying patient, a caregiver, a registered caregiver or a registered dispensary as authorized by the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Act."

I do love how it differs from state to state yet is still illegal Federally. I feel for the Americans trying to navigate such muddy waters. They can still raid your legal dispensary in a legal state, so much contradiction. I remember not long ago when they legalized here in Canada. There were people getting barred from the USA for admitting to smoking a joint in their lives. Imagine you took a trip to California and purchased weed on your vacation in a legal store. You smoke it and go back to where you came from after your holidays. Next time you visit some border guard with a stick up it's ass questions you and asks "have you ever smoked pot?" You being a good person answer yes, next thing you know you are banned for life from entering USA for buying a USA product in a legal USA store. It still beats those places where it is illegal on all levels but I do sympathize with some. It's just pot.

Yup...Maine...The great Northeast....so 6 for me...and 3 for the wife. I could get her a card and then I could grow 6 for her. but in the state of Maine you can grow 3 plants for yourself for rec. And my son lives here and he holds and Med card and I can grow 6 plants for him for a total of 15 if I wanted. and that's just for me and my house. Now if I become a caretake, well.... I do want to get my caregiver card to I can sell my overage to one of the dispensories around here...their popping up everywhere...everyone thinks their going to get rich from it. I had the DEA at my house because I hung out with a guy that created a lounge where people hung out, bought and smoked weed. And I drove him around when people couldn't get to him...He and his buddy got a year in federal prison, I didn't because I wasn't getting paid. As far as I'm concerned, this is medicine, if you can't make it potent enough. I have posted pic of the 8 I'm growing right now if you search my name, I'll keep posting, especially when I'm flowering. I'm growing Ripped Buddha(Bubba) a subcool strain...I'm going to grow the hell out of it...I'll post more...maybe I'll do a journal.

Per resident! Dang that’s nice. In California it’s only 6 total no matter the age of plant per address for rec growers

Well now that makes a little more sense. The other 3 are your wife's plants. In CO each adult can grow 6 plants, but only 3 flowering. Up to 12 plants maximum per household. So I can grow 12 max.

that's a plant in flower they would call that in this state...immature has to be under a certain size and you can have as many as you want...you can only flower so many at a time. So for someone in Maine if you don't have a med card you can flower 3 plants...so my wife can flower 3 plants...I have a medical card so I can flower 6...so a total of 9 all together...that's why I'm able to have that many...to answer your original question.

WOW....doing these 8 is enough for me...I'm disabled...hard to move around....and this is my best crop in 7 years I've been doing this...I'm actually in shock. I was going to give up and buy shitty dispo weed....like I've got to on my 50th birthday tomorrow. I'll post a journal

Does it matter how wide each one gets, or just how tall?

immature plants are usually defined in the state laws by height and width. Montana allows 4 mature, 4 "immature" (less than 12 inches tall/wide) total for medical card holders, and I believe those numbers are the same for the recreational initiative being voted on currently.

to answer your question, what would I do if I were you.Knowing I live in a state that it is illegal to grow in. I can not advise you to break the law.

but to resolve an issue with odor. Get the proper equipment. If you truly only need a gram a month. Invest in a 2x2 tent.

plenty of room for one plant that could potentially yield to half to a full pound.. depending on genetics and environment.

The whole setup would be less then $250 and that’s like basic brand stuff. Go big on light and air. Your tent will be like $100 max not even that. And your intake with carbon filter. Your smell problem is gone.

And the light! What ever your budget is make sure a big part of it is for the light. This will get you a healthier better quality plant.

Love your plants and they’ll love you back!

Yep its crazy. For example- i bought a deal end of may about 4 grams and out of that i made 6 nice tightly packed blunts using about 0.25g each of which i have 2 left. I decarbed a load for eats- of which i still have 0.25g left plus another 0.25g left that ive done nothing with yet ........ and its now october lol.

If its good stuff then in small amounts it will hit me like a brick

Just a pinch on a hot choc biscuit is enough and if its the blunt then just two puffs

I did- northern lights, white widow, kush fromage, coffe rider and vip dwarf- cant remember the name.

May have been the cocktail of them all together but when i cropped and started moving them about.......oh boy i cud smell them then
