What a difference a grow makes huh? This one is so much better than your last journal. Great results!! My PPP's fan leaves yellowed much faster than all my others ever did but she stays healthy. What kind of results did you get from that lone survivor cfl plant you had ?

That plant didn't yield very much. It was only like an oz or more. I got really high hopes for these girls though.

hey doc, ive been followin your every move. i am veg. with CFL and am looking into getting an HPS. but i was looking in flowering about 6 plants. you think a 250 watt will work? how much did you pay for that?

I think youll be fine on a 250W but i would get the 400 if you can. If you cant then just get some supplemental light. Such as some T5's tubes or some CFL's and youll definately get some good results. I think i paid a little more than $150 for my whole hydrofarm system.

I gotta say that you've been a big help in my CFL grow [my 3rd grow ever, first time with CFLs] With your tutorials and grow journals and all.

Those plants are beautiful, though. Keep it up.

I'm about 20 days in Veg on my plants and they're looking good. I have 2. One's 10 inches tall and i'd say about 12-14 inches wide [i never really measured that] and has lots of growth. I'm very proud of it, the other's about 7 and 1/2 inches tall and doing great. I'm using both red and blue [soft and cool] bulbs and I think it's really working out nice.

Do you think it's worth it to flower with CFL's? I've really been considering it as I wasn't expecting such great growth in such a short period of time with these, cause I was just gonna veg a couple plants til spring and then plant em outdoors with my normal outdoor crop, but these things wayyy exceeded my expectations in growth. I can't really afford an HPS right now so I was wondering what do you think the minimum CFL set up for flowering would be? Also, what's the prefered CFL set up for flowering?

Thanks for stopping by. I would flower with no less than 50-100 Watts of CFL light per plant. The more you can get the better but if you plan on flower alot of plants with CFL's it would just be cheaper to by a mini-hps 150 or 250 Watt. But if your just gunna go strictly CFL's t hen i would go with the 42 Watt bulbs. They have good lumen output and low heat.

Read this thread from 1-to now and its freaken amazing shit man... +rep +rep+rep+rep... how many of the 40+ watters would you get for two plants for flowering... i have 8 of the 2700k and 2 6500 k already but i want more POWER ****cries*** i was thinking 1-105 full spectrum but you think the 40's would be better if heat is an issue? Give me a hit up I have questions for the Doctor on call!!

Your plants are looking good. Did you take some clones before you went into flower? That would be sweet, have some girls vegging while their moms flower.

Yo Doc nice one I’m a bit late on you project, but I just went through like 31 pages of really fun reading, which i havent experianced in a lot of time ^^. I've seen that you've changed your light setup quite a lot since the beginning of this project, so could you go through the lights you've used in total? I might make a similar setup, I find CFL easier to grow with because you ain’t got to worry much about the heat, like on HPS’s. And also can use 6500k lights during the flowering stage? You can properly see I’m new to growing, but everything’s got to start somewhere, would be cool if u could drop me some info.

Alright, thanks doc. I can totally pull that off, I only have 2 plants going right now under CFL's and they have about 80 watts per plant now, and I have about 12 unused 23 watts sitting in boxes on reserve [6 blue and 6 red spec] and all the stuff to hook those up if need be.

Day 22 of 12/12

Everything is great so far guys. Right now i have one 42 Watt 2700K CFL, three 23 Watt 2700K CFL's, two 24 Watt 6500K High Output T5's, and one 250 Watt 2100K HPS light. So im working with a little more that 40,000 Lumens. Im gunna let them go either 8 or 9 weeks but im really leaning towards 9 weeks. It depends on how they grow.

Thank you my friend. I cant wait to add the T5's Im gunna get like two fixtures with two bulbs in each fixture. One 2700K and one 6500K on top of th ones already in there that should be very good supplimental light for the sides of the plants.

For sure mayne. Things are still coasting, im back in just straight H20 once again because i started 1/8th strength nutes and there are already very minor brown leaf tips. So im just gunna let them keep on growing. Hopefully they will beef up some more now that they are almost 4 weeks old.

So we are at almost 4 weeks of 12/12. Im really hoping that the buds will put on some weight after all that is why i picked up the hps but i have no doubt in them.

Yeah im using FFOF and im happy with the results but there not going to be near as big as your PPP. I wish they were though.
