2020 MASSACHUSETTS outdoor grow Thread!

I have the option of bringing this thing inside for the a few days to avoid the cold coming. But I am unsure if I should continue to tempt fate or cut tomorrow morning.20201027_112531.jpg20201027_112233.jpg
It just keeps pushing out new hairs and I dont want to short myself. At the same time I dont wanna lose the crop.

Shes a new england chick, whats a little snow to her. She still has to swell, the little sugar leaves will curl, if she looks healthy, no spots or worse, she’ll still run a couple weeks.

you use the bottom branch technique to pollenate? i wanted to try that this year but was super nervous. and i had a hard time getting pollen off of my males
I did go low on the two Balkhi Girls because they were short and dense, but pollinated higher up on the taller Waziri. Ended up with ten combinations and have seeds already from all, with more on the way.

I’ve found a couple of rogue seeds as I chop, but actually much less than I expected. I basically culled the males before they spilled any pollen, saved a couple branches from each and collected it inside once they ripened. Applied the pollen with a small artist brush maybe five times during early flower and just hoped for the best. Like you I had my doubts, but this was the one thing on my side this season - aside from lucking out with plants tough enough to handle my mistakes LOL

Did the same
Someone dropped propane and kerosene at my backdoor this afternoon. Gonna keep the Snow Temples going a bit longer after all. Throwing hairs again. Same type of growth here. Good dense long skinny colas. Just a few fat cola plants. I'm happy if I can just get some amber in her.

Nice haul. Should help with the cabin fever. A bit late for you. I soaked my trimmed buds in 4 gallons of 100F water with 2 quarts of 3% hydrogen peroxide for 10 - 15 minutes. Then rinsed well with distilled water. The little PM I have came right off. Buds look as clean as indoors. My allergy will let me know for sure when I can torch something.

Call me crazy...I'm gonna try to make it through this upcoming cold. Next week looks fine if I can make it Friday night into Saturday morning.
Feel like if I dont take risks this time ill never know.
I've got a cinder block sitting on my woodstove heating up. I will bring it out and stick it next to my plant in the greenhouse and seal it up tight.
Few things I want to find out...
If it raises the temp in there, and if so for how long.
Better to have the fan running or not.
Should I use 2 or more heated blocks.

Too stoned to think now but I'm sure I had more to say when I started this post

Couple candles will heat up a greenhouse

It will require a few blocks every 4x4. Keep them off the ground. Will draw heat out fast. Probably only stay warm for 4-5 hours max. Like the thought.

Greenhouse is small 4x4x6 and my first thought was a stack of 2 or 3 blocks in between fan and plant. Hope to gain a solid 6 hours of added heat. If I put them out there at say midnight to fight off the worst of the chill. Maybe ill turn the bottom one sideways (blocked from fan) and put candles inside

Not sure why that didn't occur to me lol. Thanks
Just a thought. Been pushing my seasons with primitive "cheap" solutions for years. Currently running kerosene heater with a 3 sided cinder block wall in front of it and a sheet metal covering over the blocks. Improves temps and stability. As well as blockin IR light and reducing fire hazard. Oil radiators are a good choice for a smaller greenhouse.

Set the bricks over the candles. Longer heating. Use unscented candles.

Terra cotta flower pots are perfect for radiating heat, just leave enough space for air to the candle.
I'm assuming you are suggesting placing the pots inverted 2-3" off the ground and putting candle under? This is an excellent method. And no 500F bricks to texture your skin. LOL.
