Can I top my plant? Want to make bushier

So my plant here has been in veg for about 4 weeks. I’m wanting to top it but I’m not sure if it’s too late or not. This is my first time growing. I’m wanting it to be bushier and not have all leaves coming off just one main stem.
Are there other techniques I can do at this stage to help? I’m nervous it will be too tall for my flowering stage .

Agreed. At this point, I'd say you will get better results just doing some lst to bend her over.
Too much of a bean pole at this point.

Where you are pointing will be fine. I would go to the nodes above your finger. Cut 2" above the node with clean , ISO, STERILE pruning shears or a razor blade. You are creating a large would. It needs to be treated properly to avoid possible infection. Use a q-tip and just wet the cut immediately after cutting. Then use another q-tip to apply a light amount of cinnamon to it. Sterile and dry in a day.

Hydro is right. There is a bit of cloning material there afterwards if you have the space. Good luck.

Ya, cut it there. It's gonna be awesome! Try cloning the top even if just to practice cloning. If you don't care if it works try doing it the hard way, just leave it in a bottle of water to see if it works.

Can I cut it exactly where I’m pointing or go down a little close to where the nodes are? I’ve never done cloning! We don’t have great weather here. Could I do it in the same grow tent ?

You can cut it there. Just go about 2 inches above the node for insurance in case of infection. Gives you some meat to remove later if need. And a longer road to your plant in the wrong direction. Cloning is easy. You can do it in the same tent. Just need an opaque shade over them. White sheet or pillow case. Light is too strong to start is all. Check my journal for a simple step by step with pictures. Ask if you need help.

If you're gonna clone, I do use a fresh razor blade to take my cuttings. But I'm anything but "sterile" in my garden.

“Use a sterile whatever”. Then immediately stick it into something - anything - that’s anything but sterile. GTFOH. I use an old sharp folding knife taken right out of my dirty pocket. I have no problem rooting cuttings. None. But if that’s what tickles your fish then go for it.

I top my plants whenever I feel like it. After all, they're my b*tches. You can chop right where you're pointing just always try to leave a nice 1/2" of branch at least and always cut in a 45 degree angle like \ vs - when topping if possible, especially when cutting into branches like this. You're doing more of a mainline at this point with how mature the plant is. Depending on how all your other variables are dialed in (environment, feed etc) you usually wont even notice any shock to the plant it'll just keep growing.

I'm kinda retarded so I always top my plants later on because I'm not able to imagine how its going to grow otherwise.. lol it doesn't matter how many times I study botany its a reason I'd not feel comfortable doing any form of surgery lmao I'm a very freestyle haggard grower.
