Sarah Palin was worse than we thought...

]I just don't get why otherwise semi-intelligent people went google eyes for Palin. She was the most inexperienced idiotic V.P candidate I've ever witnesed. If I were a republican, I would have been extremely embarassed for her and John, and especially for the party. It's obvious that he just pulled her out of his ass and didn't bother to check her out. Kind of makes one wonder how in the hell she ever got to be Governator. Must be some really dumb ass hicks in Alaska. All you Sarah Palin fans need to step back and re-evaluate, or accept the fact that you must be a bunch of dumb asses. I mean, it's one thing to be party faithful, but when the party foists a dumbass on you, well wake the fuck up.[/i]
that made me laugh. You know he pulled her out the ass.
He must have thought he was going to beat Obama anyway, and thought he could use Palin to get that "she's a hot MILF" and Hilary vote..kiss-ass

I think it's safe to say the interview is the gold standard by which the 'total person' can be judged in a short time. It is a window that allows the whole world a peek at the inner workings of a candidate. Failure in an interview like that accomplished by Palin speaks volumes about what we would have been able to expect from her as a leader.
This has been called the American Idol election. It must be true if the ability to be glib is the only measure of a candidate. If you say she performed poorly in a hostile interview I will not dispute it.

Let's talk about Aiche who recently had his first press conference after the election. A teleprompter is not a component at a press conference, which may explain why he had so many press conferences during the campaign (LOL!). He took a cheap shot at Nancy Reagan and her astrologers. Fine, but no one seemed to notice that he selectively forgot another First Lady who consulted a psychic and had mystic conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt. Why did he choose to take on a little old widow woman and leave Hillary Clinton alone? I think it's because he's afraid of Hillary. That kitty cat has claws, but Nancy Reagan is a feeble old lady.

Shortly afterward, something remarkable happened. His unscripted moment did not leak out accidentally. It was reported. The fallout was swift, and surely was disturbing to the Chosen One, because people did not like the idea of the President-Elect trash talking a former First Lady. It did not take long at all for the Messiah to repudiate his statement and apologize to Mrs. Reagan.

Obama did not change, the media did. The were free to report his missteps once the election was over. Suddenly the candidate who benefited from fawning interviews and favorable press coverage found himself actually being covered.
In addition, she landed her VP candidate spot because of demographics (she was handpicked because she is a conservative white FEMALE), not merit. The only bridge to nowhere was her campaign.
Of course, demographics played a key role in her selection as the VP nominee. Political strategy is driven by demographics. Demographics played into Obama's win, too. Merit had very little to do with it because Obama does not have much of a record to stand on. Palin's lack of experience highlighted Obama's lack of experience. The key distinction is they were applying for different jobs.

The selection of Governor Palin did exactly what it was supposed to do: energize the conservative base of the Republican party. The Democrats were not expecting this and it pissed them off.
Obama on the other hand, worked hard and used his innate intelligence to demonstrate his leadership abilities and run a bombproof campaign. Not only did he consistently perform in flawless manner, he did so under the auspice of his own guidance...he is a self made man, he didn't get cherry picked out of obscurity to be president 2 months before the election,
Who heard of Barack Obama before the 2004 Democratic Convention?
Having soured on the Clintons after raising huge sums of money for Bill and sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom--twice--Geffen found himself enamored of Obama from the first time he saw him on TV, giving a speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. "I thought he was a remarkable guy," Geffen told me today. "After I heard him give that speech, I called him up and said, 'You're going to run for president and I'm going to support you.' "
Geffen on Obama: 'He'll be an inspiring president' | The Big Picture | Los Angeles Times
he didn't get into an ivy league school because of family connections (Bush & McCain did).
We don't know how he got into Harvard or Columbia because the records were never released. It's almost like the press really did not want to know.
If you choose to think favorably of Palin go ahead but don't think you can use verbose descriptions of her performance to try and obscure her overwhelming mediocrity and try and put her in the same league with Obama. By doing so you insult the readers here.
I have serious issues with Sarah Palin. The scandals dredged up by the sharks in the media raise serious questions. Her positions on some issues are disturbing, but I like her. Do you know why?

I like Sarah Palin because liberals DETEST Sarah Palin. I have seen latte-sipping, man-hating, feminazis turn into quivering mounds of hatred and fear. I actually saw one purse-lipped, fastidious, shrew change colors before my eyes because Governor Palin upset her so. It was a remarkable shade of red. The bile I see spewing from the mouths of liberals when Governor Palin's name is mentioned gives me a glimpse into the Progressive mindset and the means they will employ to destroy an opponent. A liberal will show their true colors when Sarah Palin is the topic of conversation.

The American Idol election? Ok thats a fine characterization except the skills that were on display were not singing and simon would have got up out of his seat and Donkey Punched Sarah Palin off the stage after her Couric interview. And that Nancy Reagan bit...what was most remarkable is that Obama recognized he committed a blunder and made amends by calling Nancy to apologize, first class in my book and something Palin,McCain, or Bush would never have done. Just because Palin energized the base makes her no less mediocre, in fact, energizing the base was a given but she failed completely to energize anyone else. No one heard of Obama prior to 2004, thats my point, he rose from obscurity to President in 4 short years and he rode no ones coattails to get there. I do not like Palin but what I DETEST is the idea that she is capable to be VP or god forbid, president. I would do a better job than her and I am probably more qualified. As a civillian I am INSULTED at the idea she could be my leader and as an armed services member I am horrified at the prospect of the likes of her as CINC. If that gets you excited about her irrespective of her qualifications then you need to reexamine your priorities. As for me I choose country first (before free 150k wardrobes, 30k travelling hairstylists, using position of authority to exact a vendetta, etc).

Let's be clear, Obama apologized because of the fallout from the remark, not remorse. A class act would not have made the remark in the first place.

You say Governor Palin is unqualified to be Vice-President. I'd say that is an accurate statement. If she is unqualified, then POTUS-Elect Obama is just as unqualified to be President. Now we will find out and there will be no Republicans to blame. The Chosen One can expect from the Right the same level of consideration that George W. Bush received from the Left. On-the-job training is not in the job description of President.
Obama lovefest won't last - The Boston Globe

You say you chose country first. Interesting remark in light of the following quote. He's correct in this remark, by the way.
We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. - Barack Obama
He's telling us that he believes we must conform to the world. Just what the world wants.

The World President. Obama has made no secret that he wants to change the world. Halle-fucking-lujah!
Folks look at this hostility, Katie Couric and her liberal gottcha questions like what "do you read". Sara Palins answer " a sentence to nowwhere"

Johnny O you can't seem to find a clue. Obama has it right about us "driving our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times". He understand that when we have to borrow money from China to keep up our indulgences that seriously compromises our national security. As a prime example look at the dissolution of the USSR, they failed to ackowledge their financial weak points and it cost them bigtime. Politicians make mistakes, Obama owned up to his with his Nanacy Reagan apology. As for the learnign curve Obama and his team are already busy reviewing all of Bush's fuck-ups and shit he tried to sweep under the rug so they can un-do it on day 1 of the Obama Presidency. It's gonna be a long 8 years for you Johnny O, I suggest you get a warm blanket and big cup of coffee and make foxnews.com your home page because that's the only place your going to find anyone else so actively willing to deny what the rest of the world seems to grasp so firmly, Obama is the man and he is going to restore dignity to the American name. Welcome to the winter of your discontent :)

Me. I was following the presidential race closely during 2004, and Obama's senate race was in the news a lot as well.

We don't know how he got into Harvard or Columbia because the records were never released. It's almost like the press really did not want to know.
Or no one cares. Obama was by all accounts an excellent student, and excellent students tend to get into good universities.

It's EXACTLY this type of stupid vindictive shit that got us our current asswipe in chief, and it's the reason I supported Obama. Republicans supported Bush because liberals hated him. It never occurred to them that maybe they had a good reason to. A bunch of Democrats I know initially supported Hillary Clinton just because "Republicans hate her". But electing a president shouldn't be about trying to piss off half the country. It's people like you who are dividing and destroying the US.

I said I agreed with Obama's statement. Geeze! What were you saying about finding a clue?

Eight years? You should focus on the first four. Do you think he'll take this job as seriously as he took being a U.S. Senator? I wonder when the next Obama Presidential campaign will begin in earnest. LOL!

Winter of my discontent. LOL! After the hangover, you can commisserate with the rest of the Lefties about the glorious summer of Progressive disappointment.
How on earth would you know that Johnny?
Perhaps you should read my post again. I made the case for my point in a very straightforward manner.

It is painfully obvious to anyone paying attention.
I keep posting it so others can see how delusional you are when it comes to Sara Palin. lol
Are you referring to these 'delusions?'

"I will agree that she was unprepared to be on a Presidential ticket."

"Palin's lack of experience highlighted Obama's lack of experience."
Me. I was following the presidential race closely during 2004, and Obama's senate race was in the news a lot as well.
That's one. The rest of the electorate did not notice him until the convention speech. God bless the inventor of the teleprompter!
Or no one cares. Obama was by all accounts an excellent student, and excellent students tend to get into good universities.
You mean you don't care. What you say was true before Affirmative Action. However, this is no longer true. If it's no big deal, why not release the records? More to the point, why were not the records examined before the election?
It's EXACTLY this type of stupid vindictive shit that got us our current asswipe in chief, and it's the reason I supported Obama. Republicans supported Bush because liberals hated him. Priceless! You bray on about 'stupid vindictive shit' before you call President Bush an 'asswipe.' Then you complain about people like me 'dividing and destroying the US.' LOL!

As I stated previously, I did not vote for McCain/Palin. I like Governor Palin because I get so much enjoyment watching Liberals go into meltdown.

However, even though I did not vote Republican, I feel Governor Palin got a raw deal. I stand by that.

Those of who hate Palin do so because of her policies and her actions. Some of feel she has successfully set women back 50 years with her "I don't know the answer so I'll get real cute" routine. I found her to be an embarrassment, what if other countries think all American women are dipshit dress up bimbos?

In a word, Palin was an "Idiot", and any of you right wingers that couldn't see that, are blind. I'll bet that if we really looked into her little life, we could find a lot of crap that would prove my point. Not presidential material, that is a definite fact.

The echo chamber does not represent reality. Liberals can tell each other this all day long, but it don't make it so.
First off, liberals believe that by virtue of being liberal, they can't be sexist, even when they say sexist things. Combine that with the feminists' willingess to turn a blind eye to misogynistic attacks on women who don't share their views and liberals feel like they have a free pass to say absolutely anything about conservative women. If you are a liberal, you can call Condi Rice "Mammy," say Sarah Palin can't love her children and be Vice-President, and post the home address of a conservative woman on your blog -- and you won't have to pay any price for it whatsoever on the Left. In fact, attacking conservative women based on the fact that they are conservative women will earn you nothing but plaudits and plugs from other liberals for "fighting back" against those bleeping conservatives.

Next up, the Left has a creepy, Stalinesque approach to individualism and politics. Unless you are a straight, white male, the Left does not seem to believe you have a right to hold an independent political opinion. Whether you're talking about blacks, Hispanics, Jews, women, gays, you name it -- if you're not a liberal, they're going to try to intimidate and browbeat you back into line or drive you out of the public arena altogether. If you're black, you're a "race traitor," if you're a Jew, you're a "neocon" who's loyal to Israel first, if you're a woman, then you're a sexually repressed Stepford wife who's not qualified to hold office, etc., etc.

Last but not least, because liberals don't think that anyone other than straight, white males should be able to get away with having political opinions that differ from Ted Kennedy or Howard Dean, they do everything within their power to absolutely destroy any prominent examples, that blast their stereotypical view of the world, to tatters. That's why the Left reserves their blackest hatred for people like Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and now Sarah Palin; it's because they're living, breathing, inspirational examples of people the Left is supposed to "own," who don't want or need liberalism to be a success. That, most of all, is why liberals hate and fear successful conservative women.
why_liberals_hate_and_fear_conservative_women
I'll bet that if we really looked into her little life, we could find a lot of crap that would prove my point.
She was scrutinized pretty good and crap did come. Obama/Biden could have used a little looking into. Easy enough for Biden. Harder for Obama. It did not matter because due diligence was not done by the press. The D's got a pass this election.
Not presidential material, that is a definite fact.
Actually she was running for Vice-President, but I agree with you. She was not ready. Neither was Obama.

Johnny O that line of crap you just posted is so fucking off base it's laughable. The left hate women? You right wingers can be fucking dense. I don't like Sarah Palin because she's a hateful cunt in much the same fashion as Ann Coulter. As a liberal the only people I don't tolerate are people who are intolerant of others. I refuse to be seduced by her hateful language. "He's not like us"..."Barack HUSSEIN Obama". I am not buying into that right wingexclusionary hateful bullshit and I think poorly of anyone who does. Those fuckers have a kung-fu grip around your thoughts and you are by all appearances a willing victim.
