I bought a slow cooker.
I have some trim in the freezer and im about to have more.

So I just decarb the product

Get about 4 sticks of butter

Melt the butter

Put decarb'd bud in the butter. Cook on high or low? For 4 hours.

Then I strain the product?
THEN I use cheesecloth or coffee filters
To strain again

Then I just store in the fridge till I'm ready to use for cooking?

Basically yes but you don't want to chop your material so small you have to use a coffee filter. That being said I do at times use a steel coffee filter. It has bigger holes and runs way faster than paper filters

I use turkey stuffing bags to filter with and a press to squish out as much as possible. :P
I also add a little water when cooking it. When I press it all out I turn the container upside down in the fridge...when cooled and solid again its easy to open jar and empty out the water due to it being at the top now.
Just a FYI...I had 1 container go bad after a few weeks in the fridge...went moldy for some reason...think the butter was bad to start with, but not 100% sure. So maybe freeze it in smaller/manageable sizes you'll use at 1 time.

Definitely on low. You don't want it boiling or too hot. It will turn dark and taste terrible. Cheesecloth > coffee filter in this case because it drains faster and you can sqeeze ever bit out. Also coconut oil is better. Absorbs more of the goods, and is healthier.

Pro tip. If you add a cup of water per butter stick it will hold the mixture to max 100C/212F. That is below the cooking off your cannabinoids temps. You will have to strain and refrigerate, then pull the pancake off but much cleaner process. The water also takes the chlorophyll into solution and helps cut the green taste. One more thing, you do not need to cook the shit out of your budder; two to three hours is plenty. Oh and a super fine cone strainer is perfect to catch the plant material, find them in your cooking specialty store. Just stuff I have learned on this journey...

Olive oil or coconut oil is WAY better than butter..the crock pot will decarb for you.

I de-card then just bust it by hand as it’s dry AF. Then pack into a cheese cloth ball.

Put in crock pot with butter and water.

Simmer for 12 hr. Let cool and butter is solid on top.

Use gloves when ringing the cheese cloth weed sack out. Or just get really fucking high like I did a time or two.

Add water about a cup to the mix in the cooker to help prevent burning. Slow cookers are a bit on the hot side. Don’t want the slury getting above 270 or canabinoids start roasting
