Diagnosis help

Soil. Plagron lightmix, batmix and royalmix combination. Approx 25 celsius in light period, 19 at dark. Watered every 4 days approx. Using terra aquatica organic grow, root booster. Watering with 6.3 ph. Leds not too close. Moisture is not tightly controlled right now, ranges from 45-60, mostly staying between 50-55.

2 pots of MSNL Feminized Gelato and 2 pots of MSNL Feminized Green Crack. Do not laugh at me but for unfortunate reasons I have no idea which is which. I marked the same types so I know the groups of two but yet have no idea which is which.

The two different strains are showing different symptoms so I have 2 questions that apply to all 4.
All plants are being mainlined.


Plant Problem 1:






Self explanatory photos. First it was yellowing at the edges, then it slightly became in between leaves. After that the edges had areas where the color and texture looked like sand, whiteish yellow, looking dry.


Plant Problem 2:






After the first toppping while pulling down, one side of this plant dislocated and died. I topped the remaning side as if it was the first topping and continued.

The yellowing is the problem I am asking. It looks different than the other plants since it is more seen at the base of the leaf, where all the leaves come together.


There are 2 more questions in my mind about this particular plant:

1)


The newest leaves are dark shade, cupped(is it right term?), and feel dry and brittle. I first thought it might be that this plant is close to one of the little fans that are for circulaiton but these leaves are not the ones that are taking the sliiight wind. They were a bit cramped with other growth when these leaves were growing, that might have been it or the fact that one of the topped branches was broken and the other one became the main single stem, to be continude to be topped from there to mainline. That stress maybe? That are did not receive any extra heat stress than the others and there hasnt been much heat stress going on, and the leds are not very close. Any ideas?

This is the same leaf. I saw these white dots this morning and the other plants or the other leaves of the plant does not have these. These plants are in early veg. What might this be, maybe powdery mildew?

As to your question about the white dots, it is definitely not powdery mildew, your top leaves look like they are having heat/ or light stress issues.

No, I feed 1-2 mg/l terra aquatica cal mag with every feed. I suspected a mag deficiency because of ph in the first plant, flushed with water with calmag and organic grow I mentioned to fix the ph. I am not yet sure if it stopped the problem, still observing.

Are you using R/O without cal mag?

The curious part is, the plant is the exact same height with others and this is the only plant having the problems. Considering it is close to the fan near the intake, it should even be cooler.

the bottom leaves look like the start of a mag deficiency if your ph was lower than 6.0 your plant will struggle getting magnesium. If you’ve corrected these already watch to make sure the deficiency symptoms aren’t advancing. The leaf marking will not go away but they will stop advancing up the plant if you’ve fixed the problem. Magnesium is also a mobile nutrient so it would move bottom up.

Could be wind burn if it’s the closest leaves to the fan. did you check for pests ?

Yeah could be but imagine the intake hole close to the bottom of the tent. There is an inline fan drawing out at the top but no intake fan. We put one small normal fan in front on the intake hole at bottom so that while giving circulation it will also help pull air in. The affected leaves at the top are sooo much higher than the airflow so I really have no clue what is going on.

As for pests, I just carefully examined the plant closely with naked eye and all I detected were those white dots on the top leaves.

I hope you don’t have them but I had a friend that had similar symptoms it turned out to be russet mites same magnesium like leaf markings here and there and leaf margin curling upward and glossy leaves

You can’t see russet mites with the naked eye but another symptom is leaf margins pointing upwards and glossy leaves.

This is how the plants with the sandy leaves progressed. We have flushed all 4 pots with 6.6 ph nutrient water with calmag. We will see if the problems persist.





And another plant with the same problem.


And this is what happened to the plant with thick green dry growth. I would really appreciate help with this one since the symptoms are different than the rest. I am hoping the ph flush will fix all 4.




These white dots are all over the new growth of all 4 plants but they do not seem to get denser on the leaves.

Definitely ph related.
Too high, too low or sudden fluctuations can cause this.
Flush her with 6.5 water with 1/4 of the dose you're giving her and be patient, don't rush and make weird decisions, one step at a time.
Cannabis is pretty resilient, that's why it's weed.

What could cause these ph problems in the soil? I have not yet been able to switch to make my own organic soil and go no till with cover crops so I just buy the best bag soil I can find easily. I ph the water everytime I feed to 6.2-6.4 . This is my second grow and I had the exact same problem the first time. Any ideas?

Nuteburn and lockout. You're overfeeding. The soil mix has nutrients for the first 6 weeks of growth.

Learn to read the plant. Start feeding when the plants need it. You can't force nutrients into the plant, less is more.

You are a little low on pH on your feedings in my opinion. You always got to combat low pH with peat based soil mixes. Most come already buffered with lime to raise pH. Overfeeding will also cause low pH.

Do you measure the ph of the soil?
Have you measured the runoff ph? (When in soil it can be very misleading, since roots create an acidic environment to uptake nutrients)
Maybe you're flushing them too often, your soil is rich in nutrients, when you flush, the dissolvable ones are going out but the other ones stay and cause all kinds of issues.
Sudden ph fluctuations can cause this, ph going up and down all the time.
I made the same mistake with my soil, everything was great and healthy until i thought that she needs more food, gave her some organic fert, then tried some synthetic and still can't bring her back in normal.
Maybe you're overfeeding her as well, you have richly amended soil, just relax, give her water, include some microbes (very important cause you flushed lots of them) and maybe a little molasses down the line when she starts to flower and you're good.

The problem is, the plants' lower leaves are unmistakenly homogenously yellowing indicating nitrogen deficiency. The first 3 weeks I fed only calmag, and then I started feeding 1/2 recommended does of the organic liquid line of terra aqutica (general hydroponics europe branch). I just recently bumped it up to normal dose after the flushes.

The organic fert I use has molasses in it, I can smell it. I put some canna rhizotonic in the flush water but how can I introduce those microbes?

I use bluelab ph pen for liquids. I do not normally water until runoff. Should I? I will start checking the ph of the runoff.

I flushed each plant only once recently when the problems got very serious.

Right now If I understand you guys correctly even though I see nitrogen deficiency I will stop feeding.

I use fabric smartpots but I fear overwatering so I dont really water until runoff but I am guessing its near impossible to overwater in smartpots. Should I be a bit brave and saturate the pot with water?

I will measure runoff and bump up my feeding ph to 6.5-6.6?
