Light: Spider Farmer sf1000
Light Schedule: 18/6
Tent: 3'x2'x4.5' 2-in-1. Only using 2x2x4.5
Strains: 1x Moby Dick Auto, 1x Green Crack Auto, 1x Purple Lemonade Auto. All in 3.5 gallon pots.

First grow. Soil is a mix of Kellogg's Patio Plus, miracle grow organic, and perlite. My wife was mixing soil for her shrubs and I used the wrong bin when I planted. I didn't realize until after they popped and didn't want to transplant. Rookie mistake, but let's see how this goes. No nutes as of yet, I'll start using Dr. Earth's Bud and Bloom come flowering. I have diatomaceous earth on the way and will use that as pest control.

Im pretty sure they are stunted because improper soil... I'll let this go as this is only for personal use anyways, and next grow I'll ensure to use the right soil.

Germinated using paper towel method on Oct 26. Planted to 3.5 gallon pots on Oct 28th.

Moby Dick popped through soil on Oct 30th, Purple Lemonade on Oct 31st, and Green Crack on Nov 1st.

Pictures were taking last night when the lights kicked on. Not much going on, I'll take pictures with natural light later on so they don't look yellowish.

As of yesterday, from soil pop:

Moby Dick, 9 days old
Purple Lemonade, 8 days old
Green Crack, 7 days old

GC is definitely the runt, but I believe they are all small due to incorrect soil.

Feel free to post any comments/advice!

They look great but 3 autos are too much for a 2x2 tent. I'm on my second grow and after a lot of LSTing and supercropping, just one Gorilla Glue auto takes up the whole tent. Plus you're growing them in pretty big pots so they will definetely get large. You might want to check out Sea of Green method. Keep us updated man. Happy growing and God Bless!

Hi Eugenios, I have a 3x2 tent but its partitioned to only use 2x2 for now, so I was thinking about opening it up to gain that extra foot and get another light. I was also only going to do Green Crack and Purple Lemonade as those are the seeds I bought, but I got some freebies and got over excited and tried Moby Dick too haha. I figured if worse comes to worse I will either have to get another light, or chop one to give 2 of them more space. I plan on doing some LST when they get a little bit bigger.

Are they FastBuds genes?
The GC and PL are, im not sure about MD. MD was a freebie, so my best guess is Dinafem.

Of course it would be way better and more convenient to use that extra foot, but when they get bigger. I hope everything works out well. I've grown FastBuds before (LSD-25 outdoors and Mexican Airlines indoors) and they don't get too big but the dinafem Moby Dick should get pretty big, hence the name xD. Have you ever grown 2-3 autos on a 2x2, before? Also, have you grown any other plants under the SF-1000? I wanted to go for that one originally but bought a Meijiu 240w instead. Cheers.

I've only done 1 other grow but that was 10 years ago. It was some bagseed and a tiny cabinet with cfls. I ended up having to toss everything , but I cloned 8 different plants so around least I learned something there. Lol. I dont have any knowledge to compare the SF-1000 to any other light, but I like it. A few friends of mine are running this and they have nothing but good things to say and recommended it to me. Not a big update, but here's from last night. In order of the pictures, MD 12 days old, PL is 11 days old, GC is 10 days old. I get a new fan, new ph meter, and diatomaceous earth today.

Not too big of an update. I got a new fan installed last night. Im watering tonight, then tomorrow im top dressing with diatomaceous earth for 48 hours. Im going to open up the divider in the tent to make it 3x2 and hopefully get some better airflow. Too warm in the tent I think.

Any recommendations for nutes and a schedule? I was trying to go as minimal as possible and just use dr earth flower girl during flower, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea anymore as they look nute deprived.... Not expecting monster yields as it is only personal, but 3 oz total would be nice.

MD is going good, but PL is showing signs of a deficiency, and GC has been a runt the entire time.

MD is left at 14 days
PL is right at 13 days
GC is in the back at 12 days

My friend, I'm not the most expenienced but honestly they look excellent. Good job. Temp is a little high but not stupid high so it's not an issue. Have you dimmed your light? If it's not dimmed and it's at 100%, I'm not surprised by the higher temp because it's too close to the babies. Be careful of light stress. I know it's only your 2nd grow and after so many years, so I imagine you're so pumped up and hyped but please go easy on the nutrients, especially when using strong/hot mediums. Them being autos reinforce that. I would check the soil's manufacturer details before adding any nutes. I remember when I was growing in Plagron BatMix. It was an auto and started feeding it liquid nutes around the second week. Some days later, nutrient lockout. I checked on the Plagron's website about that soil and it said: No fertilisers needed for at least the first 6 weeks. I learned my lesson. So, check the details on the soil and if you're going to feed nutes, go easy on the nitrogen and start at 1/4 strength. Advanced nutrients, Canna and BioBizz are LEGIT. I don't have many options in the country I live in but I'm happy with them. Is the new fan to your liking?

EDIT: You're going get much more than 3oz total. Do some research on LSTing as well. Bill Ward on YT has great tutorials during every stage of the plant.

God Bless.

Thanks Eugenios! My last run about 10 years ago I just got to clone and then I was trying to sex them and then I had to move so I had to kill them all, so with this being my first official grow, im trying to make sure everything is right. For the light, I was at 20% when they first popped, and moved up 20 % every couple of days until I hit 100%. I did notice that the temps were in the low-mid 70s when it was at 80%, so I backed it off for now, so I will monitor for the next 24 hours and see the difference. I think you are right about the nutrients, and the issue is my used the wrong soil (I used the soil from my wife's soil tote which is almost the same but she puts miracle grow organic for her shrubs) so if I add extra nutes it may burn them. Ill let them go for now and keep monitoring. Ultimately Id like to not use any added nutrients and keep it as organic as possible, but that will take time as I continue learning. The new fan is working out really well. The other fan that I had which was temporary was a 10 inch desk fan that was on top of the exhaust vent and it was pulling air out nicely, but with the new fan and ducting I can see the tent is getting much better airflow.

Ive read a lot on LST and I plan on LSTing when they get big enough. I would be happy with any yield at all right now as it would mean I dont have to keep going to the dispensary!

Why? Everywhere I've read says to put on the leaves as well. Not starting confrontation, just curious.

There is no ceremony involved here. Some gardeners simply dust their plants from top to bottom with DE. You should only use this method when the plants are not in the flowering phase.

I forgot to mention earlier, GC is already smelling. I looked it up because I didn't know it could smell during veg, but sure enough some strains do. Already smells when I'm walking into my room, and my tent is in my closet. Definitely need a carbon filter soon.

Hahaha awesome. Don't be surprised by that. Again, I'm not the most experienced grower but every plant I've grown starts giving smells around 2.5 weeks old. The magic begins in late flowering of course. The smell intensifies by 10x and one time it even changed completely. It was smelling way different in flower than in veg. Truly remarkable plants, my friend.

I'll be ordering a carbon filter here shortly. I didnt get one because my wife said she didn't care if it smelled, but I'm thinking in full flower she might lol. At least I dont need to hide from anyone it would just be more so my kids dont smell weed all day long lol.

Temps came down a bit. 79.9 F was the highest in 24 hours. I'll be opening up that other 1x1 ft side of the tent to bring it to 3x2x4.5 here in the next day or 2 when I have some time.

MD is left (16 days), PL is right (15 days), GC is in the back (14 days)

Temps came back up. Ambient temp hasn't changed, so I need to open the tent up. I started to, but my wife is sleeping and the velcro is waking her up. I opened it halfway which should provide more space for air to move, then tomorrow I'll finish taking the partition down. Itll add a 1x2 foot space which is great. I also raised the light up to 18 inches. It was about 10 before, so could be why it's looking like PL and GC are getting burned.

I need to get that carbon filter asap, PL is showing pre flowers.

MD is 16 days, PL is 15 days, GC is 14 days.

10inches distance is crazy close to the plants, especially when is at full power. As a rule of thumb, 24-36inches is suitable distance for seedlings, 18-24inch for veg and 12-18 for flowering but it also depends on the power and type of lights. You're using LED so at least you're not risking light burn. Moving the light to 18inches was a very good call. If the plants stretch a little bit, it's no problem. That gives you the opportunity to supercrop or LST them. Just don't top them. Some people even say to not supercrop autos but I highly disagree. It helped me get an even canopy and stronger branches on every single one of my grows. The "secret" is to twist and squeeze the stem BEFORE bending it. Bending it right away (even if you're being careful) can snap the stem.
