PPM

What PPM do you use for your grow? Watched YouTube and read some online. I’m seeing some people say they use 600 or 700ppm while others are saying they use 1200ppm. Not sure how to find correct ppm I should be using

My recommendation - no matter what system you are using - is start low. Maybe 200 PPM for new seedlings. Increase it a tiny bit on each rez change. BUT...
Watch the leaves for color. If they look too dark, or burned, lower the PPM. If they look pale, increase the PPM.

The plants will tell you what they want.

If you are running different strains, you may have issues where one plant wants more and another wants less. You will have to decide how to split that hair :)

Would pale leaves me green with some yellow showing through?

Hey guys, I’m new to PPM.
I’m currently on my 8th week of flowering for Amnesia Haze.
Buds are still quite small. (About 1cm big)

I tested the PPM of my nute feed, I’m getting only about 380. I also tested the drip off after feeding and it came to 400+ PPM.
I read during late flowering, I should be feeding at 1100 PPM.

I have read, to increase PPM, I would have to add more nutrients into my feed. But I’m following a feed schedule. Just wondering if I should follow the schedule and continue feeding low PPM or add nutrients to correct PPM? Would adding too much nutrients kill my plants?

Thanks in advance for the advices!

Hey man I might be wrong but in my opinion how much you feed matters very little when it comes to the size of the buds. It’s light that matters. What are you using? With nutes check the run off. If it’s similar to what you feed you can feed more.

Hey buddy, thanks for your response. I feed about 2100 ml of nute water to a 6 gallon pot.

I’m using a hipargero 800w for lights.

By feeding more, should I add more nutes?
I’m using GHE Flora series as my nutes with GHE Calmag.
I have about 10-20% of drip off.
Last I check the PPM was at only 400+.
Here is the schedule I’ve been using for my feed and my plants.

Also I think my plants are starting to get a little purple. Is that normal?

400 PPM, starving plant. Can't see it because you cut off all the fan leaves where deficiencies are prominently displayed.

Purple could be due to cold temps. I see you have nute burn. So maybe it’s a lockout. What’s the runoff ph? It looks like that to me. Check it if it’s not what you want flush. How far are your lights from the canopy? Have you tried moving the light closer?

It’s good to have a schedule I guess but you have to adjust it according to what your plant wants. It’s hard to have one template for all the plants coz they need different things. So try to have an eye on the leaves to know. Plus leave some fan leaves at the bottom at least to know what’s going on coz that’s where all the deficiencies or burns happen first

How do I increase PPM?
I’m afraid if I increase the nutes I might over feed.
From the leaves I’m seeing, they are curling upwards and browning at the tips. That is nute burn isn’t it?

I’ve flushed my plants once when I saw the issues, it seems to have stopped browning but the leaves don’t go back green.

The lowest temp I had so far is 21 Celsius.
Yes I agree that is nute burn. I have flushed her once before and it seems to have stopped but the leaves don’t go back to green.

The lights are about 45-50cm away from plant. How close should I hang it from my canopy? I’m using a Hipargero 800w light.

How do you adjust nutes? How much is too much nutes? Kinda new here so was just following advices from senior growers.

I was following a defoliation tutorial on YouTube which instructed to totally remove fan leaves two times. Once at flowering switch and 21 days later into flowering.

At those levels of PPM it's more likely a potassium (K) deficiency. It's hard to tell for sure with the leaves all chopped off. There is no benefit to removing leaves willy nilly. Next time don't go nuts with the scissors.

Lesson learnt my friend. What do you think I can do now? She’s already on 8th week of flowering. I heard for Sativa strains the flowering weeks take longer and by the last 2 weeks, the buds fatten up?

Since you are towards the end of the cycle I would feed with majority of it being K(potassium) you can bump it up if you like but if your medium ph is off it will just cause more problems. I personally feed around 700 ppm max. I use coco so I feed everyday.

700 ayy, I can make that happen. Currently I’m only feeding bloom and micro. Maybe I’ll up on the bloom.
