To hit shelves in CA this month..don't know how I feel about this as a dead fan, here's the a few excerpts from the article-
Holistic Industries announced the creative partnership with the Garcia Family late last year to develop a cannabis brand to honor the legacy of Jerry Garcia.
“We handpicked the best possible partner in Holistic Industries to create this brand in Jerry’s honor in an authentic way that would delight the fans,” said Trixie Garcia, Jerry’s daughter and a family spokesperson. “After a five-year search for the right partner to bring this idea to fruition, we chose Holistic based on shared values, a proven track record of successful operations, scalability across multiple states and their ability to launch and market new brands; not to mention they have a senior leadership team full of Deadheads.”
According to Trixie, every last detail of Garcia Hand Picked was carefully curated. From eco-friendly packaging to Jerry’s original artwork, quotes from Jerry, and a suggested playlists for each strain, Garcia Hand Picked products and merchandise were designed specifically for the fans.

Pretty sure they got screwed out of a bunch money by Deborah Koons who Jerry married about a year before he died. They were tied up in bitter litigation for the estate and big big $$$ the 90s.

Wish Phil Lesh still toured maybe after covid and restrictions are eased, want to catch a show, they're getting up there in age now and sadly won't be around forever, as we all won't.

I doubt they will risk it. tour life is a dirty life. perhaps the wook flu will keep em living forever tho..if you've been in a Porto potty at a show you can survive covid

Nah they'll probably do those dead & co shows again with Mayer, they do short tours now, fly first class, sure its alot different than the crazy bus days of the 70s and even the 80s with all the drug dealing hanger-ons. Dead & co is as corporate and clean as a tour could get at least for the band. Those tours also bring in big dough.

I went to a few festivals, phish etc. I went to the 1st Bonnaroo and literally went to use the Porto-potty 2nd day and saw a mountain of shit poking out of the toilet. Truly was the nastiness thing I ever seen, I almost vomited just opening the door.

Hahaha remember talking to someone who said they had to shit went to sit down in one and his balls were dipped in shit, lol. I haven't gone to a festival in probably over a decade,making me think of some fun and gross memories

As i'm sure you know the place to get the best weed back in the day was from a deadhead. I like the dead but not a head and i wonder what role the band had if any in keeping the weed so good? Personally I'm not interested in the acid, just the amazing weed.

Ya I never saw the Grateful Dead live, I was a bit to young, I'm 37 now. Saw phish a lot though- in the late 90s early to 00s. I love the music, I actually like listening to the dead more than phish these days, especially cruising in my car. Not into the scene at all anymore, never really was huge into it to begin with...but ya there was always good bud and growers around the lot, and they had very high quality headies even back in the late 90s.
