12/10/8 vs yield

I was going to post this in the general section but LED and sog is slightly different then HPS AND CMH...I have a certain amount of wattage within my budget lol..I just tried 10/14 and the yield wasn’t to far off from 12/12. While at my local shop, a guy suggested I try 8/16. If I could do 8/16 I could run 3.5 more 4x4 tables. Do y’all think having more tables with a severely shorter light cycle will out yield just sticking with 10/12 or 12/12. I do short to no veg sog flood and drain tables @450watts with another 40-60 watts of supp strips

6 of one, half dozen of the other. Daily photon intake is what really matters. If you reduce the day time you need more intensity. There is no cutting corners when it comes to photosynthesis.

I don’t get what you mean 6 of one, half a dozen of the other? Increasing the wattage with less hours would still make out with less wattage with the 8/16

If you are mostly limited on power rather than space or plant count. Keep it to 12/12 but spread your lights out . If one light covers 1 table then make it cover 4. You should have a better yield overall with better product than plants done at 8/16 . Maybe use far red to put your plants to sleep faster. Give the shitty plants to trimmers if you use them, someone will always want it :)
Put your tables on wheels too if possible.

8/16 might take longer to finish too. Using more power in the long run,
Cheers

Interesting! Ok I will defiantly have to try out different times. My tables are in 4 different spaces

People have been trying this here at riu, have a look at @torontoke s posting history and you should find a thread on 8hour flower.

Tldr: shorter flowering times with a bit less yield per table

Plants store energy during light hours and burn it during the dark period, they stop photosynthesis but continue burning sugars to grow they don't sleep lol

Is that the name of the thread? His profile is limited so can’t pull up his threads...
I found it :)
I think this is the one.

They did 6/18, in the tread he posted an article that claims cannabis only needs 6 hours of intense light. I really only have enough space for 4 extra tables so I may try 8/16 and 6/18 but I would lean more toward 8/16... with 75 percent of yield maintained with 6/18 more tables would offset that loss and even more so could potentially result in more grams per watt..I’ll do a journal once my mothers are big enough to run some table comparison. 1 space 7 tables 10/14, 4-5 tables 6/18 and 7 tables 8/18
