MY BUDS ARE GOING MOLDY PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks for the new pics, definitely bud rot. The brown spots (necrosis) on the bud is a sure sign of it.

You could chop it now (I wouldn't bother with the flush, aside from the fact that I don't believe in flushing to finish plants anyways, you need to get that plant out of the tent NOW) and try to seperate it but there's far more mold there than you see... guaranteed your just gonna keep finding more mold as it dries. That plant of fried too. I'm assuming you've had a few issues during the grow.

Again, I understand the drive to try to save some of your hard work, but sometimes it just makes sense to cut your losses. Get the spores out, clean the tent and try to save the other plant. And make sure you wear gloves and change your clothes after handling the moldy plant otherwise you'll carry the spores on you. That shit is virulent.
Ok thanks, how do you think I should go about chopping it, should I cut the main stem and hang the whole plant or individually cut all the buds off and dry them?

I gave the oaksterdam university coarse book a read and it says that when you chop the entyre plant down as a whole and hang the whole plant for 3 days all metabolic processes continue too flow so they break down sugars starches and chlorophyll with that being said i would hang the entyre plant upside down and after 3 days pass id start cutting off branch per branch and hang them individually

If you do flush it’s gonna be two more weeks. Man by that time all the buds will be gone. Cut it now itself if you can. Take out all the buds that are like brown and fucked throw it. With the rest give it a thorough wash and cure

Ok , but do you not think I should flush first? Let me know, thankyou
Why are you worrying about flushing? That plant is covered in mold. It's only going to get worse. Chop that stuff ASAP put it in a bag and get it out of your grow area. Chances are that all of the larger buds have mold in them you just can't see it. Your chance for any salvage is going to come from the buds lower down on the plant. But don't chop that stuff up inside.

It's over.

Sorry for your loss.

Look towards the future and fix the environmental conditions that allowed this to happen. Growing inside you have a lot of control. Use it.

I grow in coco, so is it worth me fishing? Thanks
It's already finished.

Yeah that looks awful. Were you also venting air properly so humidity and temps stayed within a certain range? Also looks like you might of been heavy handed with the nutrients, leaves look hella green. I'd pull them, clean everything, tent, pots, saucers, fans, filters, inline fan, lights and the room it's all in very very well. If possible I'd open up the windows if it's possible and air out the room as well after cleaning. Better luck next time.

Ok, thanks anyway, can I flush for like 3 or 4 days instead of the 2 weeks I always hear people say?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I have a 4 inch extraction which I run when light is on and I have some ducting running through some of the holes in tent with s bends so light can't get through and cloth over the outside end to stop spiders from getting in and I have 2 small oscillating fans for air circulation but they don't seem to even make the leaves rustle

Yes you can water cure. I’ve done it. But you know the worst effected buds just chuck them out. Cut it now. Wash it with h2o2 and water cure. It will be fine. I did mine for 10 days and a quick dry. It’s a controversial topic so you will get different ideas. If you are like me and don’t wanna throw away months of work, do it. Good luck
Gross. Its a plant just grow another.

I hope your not selling that shit to unsuspecting people.

Yeah i guess some flush is better than no flish just make sure too use a flushing agent first than flush out the rest with water(hope someone that grows in coco chimes in)

Something went wrong with your cure then man... there is absolutely no scientific evidence that flushing does anything at all for your bud... but I digress

Nonsense.

Depends on the extent of it.

If it's a few buds, yes cut them off and there is a possibility to salvage some weed.

He may not need to toss the entire plant as you say. I've picked rot of bud and ended up happy with the final product through experience.

These new members eh, been here a few weeks constantly and always first to post a "solution".

Sorry but notice this a lot and it gets fucking annoying reading nonsense.
Funny thing is most of the new members are the ones telling him NOT to toss the whole plant...

The problem with mold spores is you can't see them, so they may be present even if mold isn't visible. And while they may not affect most smokers, some people are prone to conditions like wine makers lung... for me it's not worth the risk of finding out if myself or someone who smokes my gear is gonna have a reaction, easy enough to just start over grow another plant... but I'm a fairly cautious person, so if OP wants to risk it that's on them. Just please don't pass that shitty bud around.

Plus, keeping the afflicted plant just increases the risk it spreads to the other one and then your out the whole crap. Like I said, just not worth it IMO... but that is just my opinion

Just cut your losses with the moldy one, and get it right out of there. Doubt any of the main cola is salvageable, looks pretty rotten. If any "looks" ok, you should get away with edibles. Done it myself on more than one occasion, at my own discretion.
The lower buds may well be salvageable for smoko, just inspect them really carefully. And again, smoke at your own discretion.

So long as you can keep humidity under 50% or so, it's possible you can keep growing the other one until harvest.
If there's no mold on it, then I would try and let it finish up.

Most important thing is sorting out the moldy plant straight away, today. And getting it drying.
Chop out any mold you can see. Don't try to dry, or wash it beforehand.
Hang dry.
Or if broken down, spread the buds out on a screen or something to dry them.
Chop out extra bud with the mold too. So you can be more certain you didn't miss any. You don't want to dry it first.
Keep a keen eye on it while it's drying. If any more starts to grow or you missed some, you'll easily tell, and can sort it out.

Water / moisture is what's caused spores to germinate. With this in mind I really want to advise against a "water cure". Besides water curing being a bad idea in general.
Water curing is disgusting lol. In all honesty i'd rather smoke bud rot myself. No kidding.

H2O2 wash may well help you. Can't vouch for it though, haven't tried it myself.

Get the buds sorted and drying asap. Airflow / aeration is what it needs while drying. That should stop the mold dead.

I suggest consuming the bud at your own discretion. While I can say, I myself doesn't have a rare immune system disorder, that'll give me a bad reaction from smoking moldy weed. That doesn't mean yourself or someone else won't.

Reality is, these spores are blowing around all the time. In almost every single grow out there. It is just a reality...
Very, very difficult to have no spores around at all. Just because we can't "see it" doesn't mean spores aren't around or in our bud. They very likely already are, every single time.
Humidity is what's caused the mold spores to germinate. It's environmental.
That's the main reason it usually infects the largest colas too. Because they hold more moisture and provide insulation.

Contol the humidity better and get more / or bigger fans. Consider your intake > outtake too. Fresh air is really important as well.
If your airflow is adequate and you've been keeping humidity under control, humidity might be spiking when the lights are out.
At least that's what usually happens using HID.

There's a certain amount of general misinformation about Grey Mold being a systemic infection as well. It's systemic in the environment, not it's host. It isn't systemic in it's host like a virus. It requires spore germination to spread.
Really common sources for Grey mold outdoors is fallen fruit, other infected plants, or spraying plants with a hose left on the ground.
Dry windy conditions spread the spores and wet or humid conditions help them germinate.

Excuse the wall of text. Hope some of it is helpful.
Sorry about the mold, feel your pain. Mold sucks.
I wouldn't personally call it a total loss though. And if you can keep airflow and humidity under control, I think you have a good chance of getting your other plant to harvest.

P.S. Keep your utensils and hands really clean. Especially after using on infected material. I'd personally use different utensils for healthy plants.
Also keep a really keen eye on your other plant from here on out. And be ready to make a call.

Good luck.

Maybe you are ok with smoking moldy ass bud....I on the other hand, refuse too. Hell....he dont know whats all over that plant or any plant near it. More then likely screwing around with it majorly and spread that shit all over. Dude got so much mold it looks like spiders were living there all it's life.
