Thats pretty cool. I wonder how big the fire has to get before it does it's thing. Seems like a legit way to keep a fire from taking out your house. Liking it.

that's what i figure too. for 60 bucks, seems well worth it. not sure how big the fire needs to be though?

Very cool stuff. I like it. Gonna have to get me some of those. Saw one video with a couple in the trunk of a car, I guess if you got rear ended and a fire started by the fuel tank that could be handy.

not too good. i think the AFO has a certain area per ball . that dumpster is way too big for just 1. i have 2 in 12 sq ft.

I think that if you have a normal fire extinguisher then these would be a good thing if you werent there, something is better than nothing I suppose. I wouldn't want it as a primary means though, good old fashioned extinguisher is the way to go IF you are there. If the fire started away from the ball then I doubt it would be able to stop the fire by the time it made it to the ball so location is key.

I was at a grow shop buying my first supplies...tent, nutes, light, whole bit....and a guy came in and returned a completely burnt up roasted fire burnt ballast and hid light. I immediately bought a "modern" blurple LED. That was years ago of course, but I was so scared by what that ballast looked like i paid a lot more for some peace of mind. I've never regretted it.

Getting them to both blow up at the same time might be problematic in some situations.

Those old magnetic "core and coil" style ballasts came in a metal box for a good reason lol.

It looks like they have to melt to some degree in order to activate. Which is good for preventing accidental discharges. But by then I would think the fire would be too big for this.

I don’t want people buying one and realizing it’s too late. People will be less cautious if they think this will save them.

Can you imagine our wives. We buy it and talk about it. Go to use it and it doesn’t work. I’d never here the end of it. Even while the house is up in flames. If you still have to be there for exact placement you might as well teach them to use a fire extinguisher

Just set a few 5 gallon buckets of water on top of the tent. The tent catches fire, the fabric melts dumping the 5 gallon buckets on the situation. lol j/k
