Gorilla Lite Line vs Other Budget Tents.

Been looking for deals on a 48 x 24 x 72 (to 84)” tent and recently realized that much of this Chinese stuff sold on eBay or Amazon is the same thing being drop shipped either unbranded or slightly modified with a unique label. Vivosun, MarsHydro, AC Infinity all offer the same tents with different branding. I think all of vivosun is Chinese drop shipped stuff from Alibaba.

I’m wondering if the Gorilla Grow Lite Line is any different than the other tents going for $60-$100 range. Are you just paying for the name? GGLL says 210D. The cheap garbage tents claim 600D. I’ve used HydroCrunch and it’s garbage, but what I expected for the price. Can’t afford a Gorilla Original series rn and wondering if the Lite Line is worth the money vs the other similar cheaper tents.

Going to flower, so serious light leaks are my main concern. Not sure which style zipper is better. I can fix the vertical zipper with Velcro if it breaks. The D shaped zipper might be harder to fix if it breaks.

This one is cheap. Big enough to grow out a decent size lady.

ATM I have a viví sun 4x4 and let me tell you.. light leaks are a big problem.. I’m currently running 24/0 though but I can certainly find ways to light proof the tent..

You will get your monies worth out of a Gorilla Tent. The material is thicker, the vents are bigger, the pull tabs on the zipper are wider/sturdier, the poles are stronger, etc. Everything is "better" than the cheaper tent.

Despite all of that, the Gorilla Tent will Not yield more. All it's fancy features won't increase your yield. The Gorilla might be easier or more comfortable to use, but the cheap tent will grow just as well as the expensive one.

The real difference will really show up 3-4 years down the road. The cheap one will probably have more holes and busted zippers than the expensive one. The velcro will be more raggedy and one of your poles might be a little bent.

So I guess it depends on how long you plan to use this thing.

My lite line GGT worked great for a few years but looking back I wish I had gotten the standard higher quality one. The poles are thicker and the material is better on my big tent and is definitely worth the extra cash

I have 2 4x4s one is a cheapo the other is a ggt. I have had it for going on 5 years now. In that time I have had to replace the other 4x4 twice

I would not touch a tent that closes that way for free, it's a pia opening and closing, whatever you go for make sure it's a one piece zipper.

Idk if they're available to you but a bloom room is the best tent I've had.

I agree with that but some have a pishy frame that would collapse with a decent fan and filter.

Unbelievable... not only does the USA have them in regular stores but they're also dirt cheap, we have to go to specialist shops with specialist prices, one with a 1" frame (a green room) cost me $202/£150

You should check zenhydro.com, they've got ipower 8x4 tents under $200.

I have a standard Gorilla 4 x 4 tent that I love other than a few features I wish it had but other wise its a solid tent that allows me to go in and out easily. I also bought a lite line 2 x 4 that I was going to use for veg but sold to a fellow grower once I realized the size wasn't actually 2 x 4 but slightly smaller and didn't allow much room for the lights and other equipment in it. The construction wasn't bad but you could tell why they are cheaper than the standard series. I should mention that the lite line I bought was Gorillas first generation in that line and they did apparently have a few issues with construction that have since been resolved, only one I came across was the intersections where the zippers joined were not as tight as the standard Gorilla series, this might of been setup error on my part not getting things squared up on the frame properly but I setup it up in the same manner as my 4x4 which has no issues.

Yes that's what I'm saying, ime you need to pay for a good sturdy frame, but you can pay decent money and get a crap one.
Secret jardin for example weren't budget and were far from sturdy ime maybe they are different now but the older ones were a disgrace looking back.

I found it curious that the AC Infinity is also 2000d fabric where Gorilla is 1680d as their claim to fame. Given I've tried the AC Infinity fans I might give them a try next time I need a tent. Metal frame (and quality of) seems to be the other important differentiator.
