I had to shut down because of a plant pathogen a few months ago and start back up and recently had to go to a dispensary because I ran out. Boy was that disappointing, never saw so much crappy weed in one place lol.

Wife just said to me too bad we can’t afford all you need because, as bad off as I am, I’m in a great mood today and can walk around the house and do a couple of things. Priceless

No, I meant what I said. English is my own language. You're better than this.
What we label things determines how they are perceived by others. Illegal immigrants vs undocumented migrants, even liberal is a curse word to many. The word marihuana ( Mexican slang) itself was a weapon against hemp, if they tried to make hemp illegal in the 30's farmers would have opposed it. So yeah, words are important for a communist like you who hates president Trump!

I think we’re past that now.

Wrong.

Legalizing it means people can grow it. That means they don't need licenses to grow. That means the entire pot industry is gone. That means taxes on it are gone. That means special oversight is gone.

They don't want it legalized because if it is they lose control over it.

And if they lose control over it they don't make money on it.

That's why they pulled this fiasco the way they pulled it: to make you happy they "tried" while knowing full well it was never going to pass.

And the icing on the cake is they know you'll blame the republicans. It's a win-win-win for them.
kind of.

tobacco is legal and taxed the shit out of..Colorado just voted on an extra tax for those nicotine fvckers:spew::clap:

if it ever did pass it would be regulated and there will be rules.

the real reason you are pretty spot on is to say 'they tried' because wait until we hear how fvcked we got on the Heroes Act that we could've had this whole time because Pelosi is taking what was offered back in August. This is not just UI, this is keeping businesses afloat. the stores are dead and post thanksgiving numbers on sales? underperformed..UI is pulled one month early ended 11/28 not 12/26 like they said because we fell to 4.9% instead of 5%.

Pelosi 'this is just the beginning' 1) new president and 2) vaccine.

when she made that statement she didn't know the vaccine update.

she may be good at this..that's what i keep hearing but it's coming down to those two seats in Georgia..Mitch is throwing Pelosi the bone just in case he loses those seats- but he don't plan on it..and wait until you see what happens when he doesn't.

You do realize that most laws are written these days by the industry that the legislation is meant to regulate, then they hand it off to their paid stooge in congress to introduce it.
Yep, but there are competing agendas, of course they will benefit, they have capital and marketing, but I have to tell ya, in Canada the traditional market is flourishing as well. If the feds decriminalize and deregulate, the real action of buying and selling politicians will be on the state level many red states will have legal corporate and connected legal pot and make home growing illegal. Though I think they now realize that home grown is not that big a threat to them, most people will just buy it.

She helped get Joe elected doing this imho.

I'm happy, but also sorta sad.
I liked the rebel attitude of growing guerrilla gardens against the law, telling the establishment to fuck off.
It was satisfying in a primal way.
Now what to do?
Cannabis consumption sanctified by the government?
Somehow I think when pot goes totally legal, & that is surely inevitable it seems, the simple enjoyment of filling the pipe/rolling the joint will never be the same.
I liked being an outlaw :)
When they made it legal here I had to take up illegal drone flying to get the "rebel" feeling... Don't worry about sales though James, greed will get them, it always does.

It’s still a rose though eh?
What we call people and things matter, it sets up a chain reaction in the minds of others, rightwing media is very careful about the words they use to describe things. I'm not a language prude though, I just want to bring awareness to something most folks already realize.

As a writer I understand words and their use better than most.

I think we’re using a certain colloquial phrases among ourselves. Idk how anyone here may convey their thoughts and feelings irl.

I use my real voice. This is how I am and how I’d sound if we were speaking.

I think maybe things like the comment in question could be left out of these discussions. There are bigger issues.

While I understand your position on elevating the words and phrases used irl in order to give a modicum of respect to our beloved cannabis, I don’t think it’s necessary here.

I’ll take two elbows at the price bro lol

Is it too late to move to GA and register to vote?
I saw a story on the local news where a Panama City Fl lawyer posted on Facebook he was going to use his brother's address in Georgia to request an absentee ballot. When ask about it, he said he was joking. But the election officials in the county his brother lives in said he did request a ballot. They are doing an investigation now.

I didn't see anything passed or even written up by the Republican controlled senate back in August.

Also still waiting to see if this bill says businesses can't be sued and if this is a Trump slush fund like the Republicans wanted.

They should investigate. Good for one is good for all.

The sad part is that we got medical in 2008 and the dispensary I went to is one of the very fist ones to open and specialized in organic meds.

I run a small compassion club for those who need it and cannot afford it, they get it for free. I do sell some to friends for $140 and ounce to cover the expenses of the grow and I now have a friend who does the day to day work for free. I recently quit smoking pot, so there's more for him and others, but covid put a serious crimp in demand and visits to the nursing home. I'm getting more serious about my practice now, preparing to teach again next summer and in my line of work the student comes before oneself, how else can you teach others first as the path to peace, happiness and an end to dukkha*? How else can one be selfless? We can feel this happiness and pleasure too, when we are compassionate and generous, wholesome states of mind.

*Dukkha, most often translated from the Pali as suffering or sorrow, but it also means "unsatisfaction", not so much dissatisfaction. There is a difference between happiness and pleasure, pleasure is ephemeral and does not last long, we must chase it and it most often has an external source. Happiness is different and it can be independent of external circumstances, we do need certain minimum conditions though, happiness like peace comes from within. It's very much more compilated than this, but those are the basics.
