Texas asks U.S. Supreme Court to help Trump upend election

That shithole state of Texas, aiming to help Trump deny the results of the U.S. Presidential election, stated today that it has sued Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin at the Supreme Court, calling the changes those states made to election procedures amid the coronavirus pandemic unlawful.
This total line of shit lawsuit was announced by the Republican attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton this morning, him being just another one in a very long line of Trump ball lickers from Texas, and was being filed directly with the Supreme Court, rather than with a lower court, as is permitted for certain litigation between states.
Texas accused election officials in the four states of failing to protect mail-in voting from fraud, thus diminishing "the weight of votes cast in states that lawfully abide by the election structure set forth in the Constitution."
Texas is also asking the Supreme Court to block the Electoral College votes in the four states - a total of 62 votes - from being counted.
Biden has amassed 306 electoral votes - exceeding the necessary 270 - compared to 232 for Trump in the state-by-state Electoral College that determines the election's outcome, while winning the national popular vote by more than 7 million votes.
Texas also is asking the Supreme Court to delay the Dec. 14 date for Electoral College votes to be cast.
Jesus fucking Christ Almighty.
We as a Nation don't have time for this shit.
TRUMP FUCKING LOST!!!!!
MOVE ON!!!!

Was just posting this over at my forum.

Seriously, how on earth are these lawyers not being sanctioned? This goes beyond frivolous into the realm of full blown stupidity.

So who’s paying for the other states? Texas is paying for all the other states attorneys? Doubt it. Again everyone’s tax dollars hard at work.
*sigh*

He filed the lawsuit directly to the Supreme Court. At this point in time the only people's money who has been used are the people of Texas. The SCOTUS will no doubt refuse to even hear the case, so it's not going anywhere.

So only the people of Texas are having their money wasted. Nobody else will.

Unless, of course, the SCOTUS decides to hear the case. (Which there is absolutely ZERO chance of that happening.)

Then, on the off chance the world turns purple and things go pear shaped and SCOTUS does decide to hear the case, they would set a date for briefs. Then the respondents would be notified and they would begin researching the case.

AT THAT POINT you would have the other State's taxpayer dollars funding the defense for their respective state.

So if Texas can Sue Wisconsin can I sue Texas as a resident of Wisconsin for trying to invalidate my vote?
You can sue anybody anywhere for anything at all.

But here's how it works:

When you file a lawsuit, it is reviewed by the court. It has to meet certain criteria before it's accepted. For instance, you have to have standing; that is first and foremost above all things.

Example: You and I get into a car wreck and you get hurt. So all of a sudden your third cousin files suit against me for damages you suffered. Well, that wouldn't be accepted because he doesn't have standing. He wasn't the one in the accident and wasn't the one harmed by it.

So that case is tossed before it ever gets started.

That's how most lawsuits go, believe it or not. The vast majority of them never see the inside of a courtroom.

This is just Texas Republicans trying to cash in on Trump's "they stole the election" money train. They want to "look tough" to their idiot Trumper constituents so they can say, "we backed Trump till the end!" during the next elections. It's sad how these people are draining dry the dumbest and poorest cross-section of the American population. Trump has made more personal profit off of his "rigged election" reality show than he has from the Trump Org over the last decade.

If they don’t back trump to the end then they look like they picked a loser. Trump 2024 buckle down and save up now. 4 years away from another possible recession president.
