Ok guys so for months and months I’ve been experimenting with using cheap medium. Whether it be promix or MG natures organic I’ve been running it while also getting my environment stable.

prepare to be amazed guys
Currently running this

Lights: 2x HLG 600W Rspec LED Panels
Grow tent: two separate 4x4 tents.
Veg time: about 6 weeks.

Temps: 81 max, 63 deg lights off min
soil: Miracle Grow Natures Care organic potting soil, added extra perlite and dolomite lime. (Natures care PH is really low at 5.2-5.5 starting so you WILL need plenty of added dolomite lime to stabilize 6.3-6.5 and also give you cal mag in your medium), also added EWC. The ewc is important as well as a saw a huge boost after I added it ( I forgot it at first then top dressed it in)

Strains: some bag seed From mexican brick weed and also some random seeds from Tony Greenhand.

Water: City tap water phed from 6.3-6.8

nutrient lineup. Fox farm trio, blackstrap molasses, little bit of TRS Signal Terpene booster (ONLY USE NEAR MID-END OF FLOWER and once every few waterings. Do not overuse)

ive Been doing trial and error all summer long and I finally got some pristine plants using this mix for cheap. The biggest Thing was the low medium PH. I had to contact MG and ask which led to them telling me that Natures care is phed from 5.2-5.5 which is absolutely NO GOOD. Luckily adding in more dolomite and Phing on the higher side of 6.5-6.8 corrected my issues. It wasnt Really huge issues, just slow growth at first. But that was due to PH and a problem with my light that I got fixed later on

I found that the miracle grow needs a shit ton of perlite added to it tho. Reason is that it has that water conserve crap in it which makes it soak up water like a sponge. You need a lot more perlite to counteract that. Also don’t forget the EWC because you will have to add it in as well as dolomite. Once you figure it out you can make a fix mix with it. I would recommend maybe even mixing up a batch of soil first and then watering in the dolomite and letting it sit for a few weeks so the PH can correctly adjust before planting.

So close to harvest. Maybe a week or two left.
But all in all beautiful plants. Now I just have to pray drying and curing goes smoothly. That’s the hardest part for me lol. My next run I’m gonna run nectar or the gods #4 soil and see if I get even better results.

Are you just growing 1 plant per light ?

Finally someone else that was successful with growing in MG. Miracle grow is like blasphemy here for some strange reason. I had 2 harvest that were absolutely amazing using it. I’m honestly thinking of going back to it on my next run. I’m currently running promix with roots organic dry amendments.

So before i start a hornets nest by asking questions about miracle grow, about how much DL did you add to neutralize the PH. I used some natures care with perlite and a touch of DL, but i wanted to see if i added enough. I used about 3ozs to about 5 gallons of soil (give or take because of the perlite). Im just getting a little yellowing of the leaves down below which im equating to needed nutrients (I havent added any to the soil yet except the lime) or because of a very low PH in the soil. It doesnt look like they added peat moss, which i could have missed reading the label, which would be the cause of the low Ph. Thanks for any help.

About a tablespoon per gallon before planting and then maybe a second dosing in the second month. After that you should be good for your grow because it’ll spend time breaking down.
Working with soil like this you’d really wanna get a blue pen soil PH meter

And yeah natures care has almost no nutes in it. So I would half strength nutes from the start. That was also a mistake I made before.

I had great luck with the MG Performance Organics. I added some perlite and lava rock, and added a few dry ammendments like Oyster Shell flour, kelp meal, and some neem/karanja. Spread my cover crop seeds on top with some malted barley, and covered them in about an inch of ewc's and watered it all in. Have been slowly transitioning to my coots mix, but I got excellent growth with the miracle grow. I did water with the coots watering schedule. Plain water, MBP/Fulvic Acid/Aloe/Agsil, Plain Water, Neem/Kelp Tea, Plain Water, Coconut water, then start over.

I'm confused why its funny.
You see how dark, dark green the leaves are? Plus the "hook" at the tips? And the glossy, waxy leaf surface? Classic nitrogen toxicity which will substantially decrease yields in flower.

Does not look bad to me...too many think you have to allow your plants to starve and fade....broscience.

I'm not talking starving it.
That's actually more for bag appeal FYI.
Anyways, this is past well fed and definitely leading to toxicity if not already there.
Dark green leafs, glossy, hooked tips. The exact definition of nitrogen toxicity.

Dude, this is a great grow for sure!
Is constructive criticism not allowed? Isn't that what this site is about? Learning, improving, doing better the next time around?

Chill out man. Stop white knighting and understand that we see an issue that can and should be addressed.

We are attempting to be helpful while you are attempting to not look wrong.

Again chill out.
