Purposefully Herm male plant?

Is it possible?

My father started popping (pre?) flowers in the veg (18/6)tent. I put him under 24hr light in own space so he doesn't pollen my mothers. I eventually will mix him, but I didn't expect him to force the issue.

I want to clone him and try to force Hermie the clone. Is it possible? I can only find stuff on forcing fems to Herm.

I suppose you can make fertile female flower by suppressing male traits but thats not really a herm then its due to chemical intervention, I suppose that seems more likely

That's exactly what it does.

You'll have to research it on your own if your interested. Do a google search with "ethephon reversing male cannabis" as the search term.

This is something I’ve been thinking about lately. It strikes me that the better solution to seed making might be to induce female flowers in a male and allow them to seed naturally by pollination. Shielding the apex of a male when spraying the rest of its budding branches should result in many regular seeds, which should sprout and grow normally. The males genetic heritage would be passed on in a perhaps mere stale way? In what ways would the flower of a female seed from a male genetic profile different from, similar to, and complementary to female seeds from female plants?

Sounds like a hell of a science project. I’ll have to try it.

This forum goes right into it and I just asked for updated results on his latest project.

its definitely possible if you can source the appropriate chemicals...... but why?

it makes a lot more sense to just keep the females and reverse them with good ol CS and breed that way. so you can grow out the females and see what traits they will likely pass on or at least the phenotype and still harvest some good flower off of them and use them for breeding. if you flip a male to produce female parts.... you wont be able to smoke it... itll grow shittily from the chemicals messin with it.... you probably wont be able to produce mature seed from it...... and worst of all youll probably have mostly non viable seed if your ever able to successfully pollinate since the offspring would be inheriting 2 Y chromosomes from both daddys which im almost positive is fatal.

Making a male plant become female, at least in my mind, would be to see the trich and terp production that will be passed on when you do breed with that plants pollen. Who wants to see male x male?

Curious about the topic tho.

then why not feminize a solid female and cross her to another solid female? you can see each plants full expression and also produce XX plants aka feminized.... you can also smoke them and lab test.... no benefit to a male

idk who wants to see it lol i agree itd be cool to see tho,

I want to do this as I have really old Puna Buddaz seed from 1976. I'm running out out of seeds as the germination is low and as of now I only have 2 males from 15 seeds pop. This needs to happen so I can continue this line and move forward with my other crosses.

Is there any research on grafting weed? Could you try intersex grafting put a male branch on a budding female plant? Or better yet putting a branch of each female you want to cross pollinate on a single male?

I've never grafted, but I don't see a problem why not. It would save space
