root rot question?

so ive recently started to notice slimy muddy like soil around the base of my plants is that root rot?? im growing in pro mix. has anyone else noticed this before??
since ive noticed this my trichome development isnt going nowhere (trichomes not maturing) will this cause that to happen?
its like the plants stopped growing

If you have root rot, you're watering too frequently. Get a moisture meter.
