Maybe peat bogs are in trouble in Europe, but Canada has millions of acres of peat bogs.
And chopping them up is releasing huge amounts of carbon. I'm seriously considering switching to either coco or a supersoil that doesn't contain peat.

There are also peat bogs in BC that are on fire, iirc.

Edit: Yep. https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/climate-change/impacts-adaptations/climate-change-impacts-forests/forest-carbon/peatland-fires-carbon-emissions/13103

We are not exactly saving the world on eco principles so who really cares to translate that into growing unless your the easily led type who now thinks by not using peat you have made a difference.

Thinking like that is what led us here. The idea that "nothing I do will change anything, so why bother".

Who is more easily led? The guy using critical thinking to choose his own course, making choices based on his own principles? Or the guy who has been lulled into inactivity by the pessimistic moaning of others?

None of this is answering the OPs question though. If you want to discuss this feel free to PM me.

Nothing you do will change anything, since I was born every year a guy in an office presses a button on a computer and it tells us how much better or worse the world is fucked since the last time he pressed the button.

Guess what, every year we are more fucked. Sheep are easily led, dim twats spinning on their own self conscious plane buying into bullshit are not easily led and exactly why were here today fucked even more than last year.

No need to pm.

You weren’t strong in chemistry even in high school were you?
What's up with the insults. I didn't talk shit. I just don't agree.

Actually I aced it and loved it, both classes I took, and that was in college. High School Chemistry is nothing. I'm not talking about the Survey classes either. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BAS in mathematics, so I took the real physics classes as well. But nice try.

To kill soil microbes put your soil in an oven over 180 for half hour, fertilizer is not going to hurt a thing. Misuse of soil and chemical feets can start killing soils over time but that's not us indoors with bagged soil or 420 soil.

Just Google how much salt it takes to kill a plant and soil, it's above what we ever give.

420 soil and organics starts getting complicated, you find yourself buying into pH calmag bloom booster meters to water and crap then more often your just too encourageable and could make life easier by keeping it simple.

The easiest route is to buy a chem feet and organic boost like seaweed and work up to everything else and start learning to keep your soil nice.

If you guys want to save the Earth stop buying soil everytime. Reuse it. ROLS or no-till.
