First Grow Ever

So with absolutely no experience in gardening besides growing a small vegetable garden in miracle grow, I decided to try growing organic bud. I used a living soil recipe from a book I got called true living organics. I’m growing three strains in a 5x5 tent, the strains are mt. Goat, sled dawg and blood diamonds from swamp donkey genetics. I have eight plants in total. I think my soil mix was a little hot because I had some tip burning and really dark leaves but the plants seem to be bouncing back after transplanting. Anyway here’s some pics, any advice on how big I can grow them before starting to flower or if I should try tying them down or scrogging is appreciated. Also wondering if I should add cal mag to the water as I’m watering with reverse osmosis water. I’ve topped most of the plants once by now

Not a soil guy but, your girls are looking good. You could start LST now, that is the training method I use most, I'm still learning about scrogs. I've got one girl in a scrog, but can't much see the benefit. I LST'd my last auto and she threw 3.5 oz when only 2 were expected.

Thanks man! What parts of the plant would you recommend I tie down? The whole main stem or side branches?

The main stem... leave a week then do side branches but dont forgot to anchor the main stem first to prevent root stress

Can you tell me more about anchoring the main stem? When I try to bend the main stems the root mass wants to come up

Basically get a pipe cleaner or soft coated wire bend it round the main stem near the bottom without bending the stem attach it to your pot so its held ferm. Then start to bend the main stem the opposite way of the anchor and tie the top down. So basically your trying to stop the root ball from coming out

I love getting answers to questions I didn't know I had. I waited till she was tall enough that bending didn't pull too hard, and lightly "popped" her main stem for flexibility.
