A few messed up plants?

Can you send me a pic of that number on your ph down bottle of cyko ? The number of available phosphate ? it looked to me like it says 47%. IF that is the case then you just solved an unknown problem in a friends world. Thank you sir ! I love it when a rookie teaches me something new!
That ph down is too/very strong. 8.1 is high but putting too much ph down in the mix can be worse. USE THE LEAST amount possible to drop it.

The only reason i can see as to why that cyko is so strong is because of the 47% P. If it were me , i would use the 8.1 tap vs the cyko BUT im not you and im probably over-reacting to it. Seedlings dont need much food or light , you fixed the light , now i expect explosive growth over the next week or so.
The one thing that might stop the explosive growth is the excess use of P coming from the ph down. IF you have to use more then 1ml per gallon , then i would forget the ph down and just use tap.
This is a question for a more food savy person. xsto, renfro and others would be good to answer this question for me.......

Yes when I get home I will take some photos of it for you. Literally only takes 2 drops in a gallon of water and water goes from 8.1 to 6.5. Interesting thing is the nutrients I use for my flowing plants that are outside is a 13-35-15 and when i put 0ne tspoon in a gallon of water like the directions say it takes my water from 8.1 to 5.69 ph so now I have to wait in the ph up i haven't received yet to bring it back up to 6.5...or use half the nutrients to bring the ph back up.....I find it amazing my first grow was successful at all, about 3 more weeks till I harvest it....man that first batch survived a hurricane, a flood with brackish water out of the bay, a greenhouse blowing across the top of them and every form of newbie abuse imaginable from me and fucking made it.

ive seen and had enough beginners luck for all of us. its real. you wont have real p0roblems until you really try hard , then the problems start showing everywhere.
5.69 is cool , i would not ph up that. its not low enough to ph. If your desired amount of food brings it down to 5.7 then do NOT adjust your food to raise it. just use it. pay more attention to the food your giving them vs the ph.
Instead of beating around the bush an trying not to get a debate going.....fuck it. You do not need any ph up or down. let your soil do its job. Your soil will buffer the nutes to whatever the soil is at. The microbes in the soil have the ability to change your ph according to what the plant needs.

Well here they are today. Definitely looking better. Ones on the left I cut the dead leaves off, the ones on the right i left them on. A little experiment to see which grows better.
I turned the dimmer on the light up. It was at 6500 lux at the canopy now it is at 12000. Will probably fuck around and water them tonight. They are dry dry.

Thanks man. I appreciate the advice. I just posted some update photos of the little ones.
The big ones outside are starting to take right off. They are the ones I've been feeding.
Stems are purple as fuck thou

you can tell by looking at the pics your doing much better at watering now. you can see the soil pulling away from the side of the pot now. thats a good thang. They should snap out of it soon and start growing like a weed. If you are in fox farm OF then you wont need any food for a couple weeks, maybe longer.

Hey I got my ph pen. Thanks for all the help!
Looking good now you wont have to question your PH ever again unless that pen breaks, usually they last a good 5 or more years though lol so that shouldn't be a problem.
Well after calibration of the pen and testing my tap water it was 8.1....I don't mind testing and adjusting my water or any other things I might need to do to do the job(grow) best way I possibly can.
As far as soil I used miracle grow organic soil as that was the only soil i could find around here that didn't have time release fertilizer in it. I mixed it with about 30% perlite. They are definitely growing again.
Dang I figured there was definitely a ph issue and 8.1 is wayyy too high. You definitely will want to drop it down to a good 6.2-6.5 PH for soil. You can play around in that range and see how the plants respond.

Miracle Grow used to be really bad for growing weed but it seems like its actually really good these days from what I've seen on this forum. Lots of people would hate on it in the past and "hydro shops" that sell mainly cannabis oriented soils and mediums (coco, peat, perlite etc) never stock the box store brands like Miracle Grow.

It looks really good considering the choice of soil and I can understand sometimes its hard to find anything else depending on location. I've personally got to drive 1 hour round trip to get my Coco I grow in and I'm in Michigan where its legal to grow recreationally up to 12 plants per adult and medically 12 plants per/patient.

I recommended the Cyco brand. It's extremely potent stuff you only need tiny drops I made sure to warn of that. The beauty is even if your mixing 100+ gallons a week a quart will last you a year lmao.

They have definitely perked up a lot compared to the first pictures. I'd let them veg another few days or so and then pluck away the unhealthy leaves to track the new growth better.

You can definitely tell the new growth out of the top is very healthy now. Good work man!

after talking to my friend. you are right....its soooo strong that you wont need enough to really alter your food that much. my friend seems to think that the extra P in the cyco is what was causing his problems....i doubt it personally. (Just for the record though: Cyco ph down is 50% pure P)

Im not against ph'ing soil. I just dont recommend going down that road until needed. All good soils are coco and/or peat based and the ones that are peat based usually add lime , then you add all the good organic amendments and your ph will usually stabilize itself between 6.0 and 7 very quickly.
(reason being: coco and peat are almost the perfect PH for our world and they are both buffers so no matter what you put in (within reason), the soil will stabilize between 6 and 7)
Example: my tap is around 8 right now. I use it with no ph down. I just add whatever food i think they need.
Another great example: If using the Earthjuice 3 part "organic" line, then after mixing your food , the ph will be close to 4.0. Ive never seen problems giving them a ph of "4.0" from the meter. (that reading is not accurate on any meter)

Those are my own opinions and some facts. If you want to rule out ph completely , like most growers do, then you will go ahead and keep ph'ing your water as long as you use mostly chelated chems for food. (Real , organic foods will never read right with a ph "meter")

I'm aware of the extra P, it shouldn't be causing an issue so long as its being applied properly. If a product is 10% P and you apply it at an increased rate you're going to get the same content to adjust the PH anyhow. The point of their product is to not be selling water. Cyco has some good stuff.

I've been using their PH UP & DOWN along with General Hydro for a couple years both work the same except with cyco I add a few drops where with General Hydro PH Down I'm adding a splash..

It looks to me like you may need to turn the light back down. they are not getting enough food for some reason. It appears to be "sunburnt" which is from too much light. They look good and will be fine but they sure aint as happy as they should be right now.

I just started feeding them 20-13-10 half strength once a week. Just feed and watered them 2 days ago. This is what they look like now. I thought they locked a lot better?
No, dont get me wrong , they do look a lot better! great job! I was just saying they do not look like they are hitting their growth spurt yet and they should be. Some of your pics , the tops are almost yellow.... thats too much light in my opinion. (or lack of food for the amount of light)
20-13-10 is pretty strong so be careful not to go over about 5ml per gallon and once a week should be plenty , thats why i say maybe the light is too close. I am 95% sure that lower light would speed things up.

Overall , you are in a much better place then you were a couple weeks ago. great job!
