Lower temp for darker colors?

First time grower hoping for some purple in my bud, I’m growing Jungle Driver (Sundae Driver#19 x Jungle Cake) bred by Jungle Boys. My temperature with lights in during the 12Hrs range from 75F-78F. When lights go off temps range from 65F-68F. How’re they looking?

Don't lower temperatures to try and get color. Just grow a strain that will show color naturally.

The temps are just like that due to my fan sucking air from outside through my carbon filter, I live in Vegas, our night temps are pretty nice. Also I’m hoping the genetics play a huge roll, $200 for 10 seeds it better be something nice lmao

I do believe you would need to dip into the 50s for that to begin to occur.

And even then its not guaranteed. I have a plant now thats been in 30 degree nights for a month and its got zero purpling.

65 degrees shouldn't do it.

Guys, I have numerous plants and numerous strains outdoors during summer here. By the end of August it’s easily hitting 45 at night. Plants don’t change color.

Those in the actual ground reach permafrost at 12”-18”. No color change.

First temperature has been ruled out for color change in trees. That’s related to the length of daylight hours. Excuse me when I laugh from Alaska at people putting ice on top of a bucket of medium to force color change.

Buy strains that are colored normally such as the purps.

Eh? You spend 200 bucks on seed then want to fuck around with the temps because you want purple, why not just buy a purple strain?

The purplest plants I ever grew came from a grape ape mommy that I had for years. The clones were purple during the summer, far more purple than any bud I've seen recently, but in the winter, every millimeter of them was dark purple, stem, fan leaves, interior, everything. So cold does play a role, just not the biggest role. I'd also note that allowing them to get cold in the winter almost always resulted in a case of PM.

My blue dream seedling has tinge of purps, i leave it in darkness in the garage with window open for airflow, very slight tinge but when i flower it ima have it more in the cold so hopefully it'll have nice tinge of purps on the nugs, never had purple blue dream personally so i wanna see how it smokes compared to all green grown in 70F, beware though i read purple from temperature is due certain nutrients not being able to work efficiently due to the cold temperature and that it can slow growth but I'm personally gonna take the risk20201214_012828.jpg20201218_004819.jpg
