We're not arguing. We're not talking about a "herm trait" or a "herm gene" were talking about one plants tendency to herm more often than anothers.Don't want to argue, there is no Herm trait, you cannot breed it or search for Hermie resistance. You can find easier strains don't stress so much.
Fifty years of breeding, you suggest we have all gone wrong since every strain still Herms when stressed.
Are you saying every strain/pheno would herm under the same amount of stress?
Edit: I just noticed you said "You can find easier strains don't stress so much" So you seem to be agreeing that hermaphroditism is in some way related to genetics... Using those strains to breed, rather than the ones that hermie easier. that's exactly what we're talkin about.
