Yesterday, Donald J Trump finally/maybe acheived his goal/purpose in life, too be the most popular/admired man in America according to Gallup.
Donald Trump, Michelle Obama Most Admired in 2020 (gallup.com)
He replaced Barack Obama in the #1 slot for the 1st time, who had maintained that position for the last 12 years.
I just want too puke/slit my wrists/shoot myself in the fucking head.
This is what we are?
This is who we fucking admire/respect?
I give up, I really do.
I just want too fucking die & get the pain/torment over with.
I've had enough.

Trump's 18% of the nation that is in his cult squeezed him through because Obama/Biden/Fauci split the top of the ticket. Good for him, I am sure he will brag to everyone about this forever.

Luckily this doesn't matter at all.

Excerpts from NPR.
"The analytics and advisory company conducted telephone interviews with a random sample of 1,018 adults across the country in the first weeks of December.
The poll has taken place every year since 1946. White House occupants — past, present and future presidents and first ladies — are almost always contenders, Gallup said. As most admired man, 48% of Republicans chose Trump, with no other public figure receiving more than 2%. Democrats split their votes between Barack Obama, 32%, and President-elect Joe Biden, 13%. ..........Additionally, many people named a relative or friend as most admired, 11% for a man and 16% for a woman. About 20% of those polled didn't offer an opinion as to whom they most admire."

The irony is less than half the Republicans voted for him. Remember this was only 1,000+ people. so 48% is only 480 people.
I think Gallop just discredited themselves.

I bet if you were able to get the stats on how many people Gallop called as to how they felt about Wheel-of-Fortune it would be in the tens of thousands.

It wouldn't actually be 480 people, the poll was of 1018 people, and the 48% was for the people who identified as Republicans. Trump actually got 18% of the total votes or about 180 people.

I am not sure how this is discrediting Gallop though. If they said Trump was, but someone else had a higher percent, would be discrediting IMO, but a puff piece random sampling survey like this is not that.

1018 polled out of a population of 330,000,000? Nice cross section. I don't care who won what or how. It's a pitiful poll.
Do you think that they were that far off? Trump did end up about the same percentage of the population voting for him.

If this was anything that actually mattered, sure I could see your point, it is not a legitimate thing other than a fun way to advertise their results of a decent sized poll (all those 1000 people had an actual conversation and took the time to answer a series of question) which is about 7 days strait of talking on the phone (assuming about 10 minutes each call*1000 people).

I think you are just being crotchety about the survey, and instead of thinking more than a second about it you double downed on the fake outrage about some bullshit 'award'. lol and it is not even 'Time's person of the Year'.

I always thought if you advertised a turd of shit creatively and enough, someone would buy it. I just never figured that almost half the voting population would though. Advertising works, Google and Facebook became multibillion dollar companies overnight when compared to traditional industries, they collect eyeballs and attention spans. There wouldn't be trillions a year spent on marketing if it did not work, branding is bias and branding works.

The only poll that matters is an election poll.

That's why all the election estimates were wrong the last several elections. They use the same process and same limited number.
