Just get some silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate and call it a day. No guesswork at all. It works. $50 - $60 worth of chemicals and you'll be able to mix up enough solution to reverse dozens of plants and know that it's going to work.

And you can mix up as much or little as you need when you need it. The chemicals will last for years if stored correctly. CS works but why bother with the extra spraying and unknown results? When I do reversals i've usually put in some extra effort to make clones. I don't want to waste my time spraying everyday for weeks hoping it works. STS makes it easy. It's the way to go for an almost guaranteed success.

I didn't phrase my last post very well. Yes see if it works. I didn't mean to disparage what you've done. My apologies. But going forward if you are going to do reversals with any regularity, STS is a better method. I've used both CS and STS and have been successful with both. I just prefer STS as it's a more reliable and less time consuming method for reversing female plants. Good luck. I hope that you are successful in making feminized pollen and seeds for your future grows.

You can definitely do it with CS, although it took me a few tries at first to get it to actually work.

An update and hopefully someone can give some input on the babies. Definatly, do not look normal. Not sure if that is not normal in a good way or not.

Zooming in on the picture I finally noticed the deposit on the leaves.

Kind of how mine looked about a week ago. I used home made STS and sprayed 1x/day for 21 days. Last spray was Dec 28. Pic is from today.

Maybe keep more off the silver off the leaves, they look worse fore wear. But I am pretty happy anyway. So how long should I continue spraying and how soon do I have to go before I get pollen? I guess I should put the girls in flower now.

You can keep spraying right up until they start dropping pollen. You should start seeing the pods mature and open soon, roughly 7-10 days.

Don’t keep spraying, you only need to spray once or twice a day for a fortnight or so. Once you start to see pollen pods forming, STOP. You are spraying to make the plant change sex. Once it has changed you gain nothing by making it ‘even more male’. You are just wasting cs.

The plants seemed to be stuck in neutral and I was wondering if the spraying was holding them back. I stopped for a couple of days and daddy's little babies grew a pair. I have read that you should stop after they appear, also that if you do not they produce pods but without pollen. I will split the difference, I will give it another shot in a couple of days.

Well, it looked like a few of them should have spilled their guts but no sprinkling of the good stuff. So I plucked one and looked uner a handheld microscope I got for looking at plants in flower. I little too much magnification but it works. For looking at what is inside the pod, about right. The look like granulated sugar that are partly melted into each other. And a lot of them. So I hope things are going right. I guess I can check in a couple more days.

My little problem with root aphids is over but I lost all but three plants. The three plants are the same strain, I have one plant of the same strain and two others. Easy enough to figure out what to do, pollinate one plant with one of the flipped plants. One seems to have bought the big one also but I do have some pollen from it. One has been doing ok considering the process, the other strain seems to be a few weeks behind on ripening the pods. It did shed some clumpy stuff that looked like pollen under the microscope, hopefully it is viable. I brushed the pistils with the pollen using a fine paint brush.

I also had a plant that is higher THC that I applied the low THC pollen to on different branches and pollen to another branch from a male plant from the mystery seeds I found when harvesting my outdoor plants. I also got around to another 1:1 plant that I had outside, found it had seeds also. I germinated them and stuck them in coco. We will see how they do also. I am having second thoughts on growing outdoor now if someone out there is letting their mails live and seed the place.

Well, two of the plants produced pollen but more as a clump of it. The third (one on the left in the back) has not dropped much of even the clumped stuff. It is still living as compared the the left one that died and the right one that is hanging on. But this one has, gone to town on pod production. Not sure what to expect from it. a little late to pollinate its plant though.

So I took a pod off and dissected it. It is hard for me to tell, the stupid handheld microscope has a little too much magnification to be real useful, but it seems like there might be nothing inside. That would be a disappointment. Not sure what to do with it now. It is still alive, I lost the rest of my plants in this strain. What will happen if I keep growing it? I have no idea.

Keep it alive to see if it drops pollen, then seal that up and freeze it, you could try to re-veg the plant also if you want to keep that strain around.

I have a THC plant that I used as a, 'what is it going to hurt' experiment. I brushed it with pollen from the outdoor plant I had unexpectedly found seeds in, also with two feminized CBD plants I reversed. The CBD plants did not produce powdery pollen like the outdoor male but in clumps. I did not know if they were viable so I used this plant to test it. This is the only plant I did not dunk to get rid of the aphids as they ignored it, it did not have normal leaves due to monster cropping the clone. It sat for months and finally decided to grow again. I marked the different branches with colored pipe cleaners according to the pollen it got.

I was thrilled to find that it had what looks to me like seeds starting to grow.

I am pretty happy to see that it worked, my success rate with growing has not been that high. Beside the plant in the first picture I have a CBD clone that almost did not make it so even if the other plants do not deliver I can start again with this one.
