Anyone else use great value LED's?

anyone else try out great value bulbs?i currently have a plant i grew 12/12 from seed under a 10.5watt, 3500k Great Value LED. Already in early flowering now, as a newbie grower i myself was suprised by how well its growing so far, my wifes father was an avid grower back in they day and he too was very suprised by how its grown under 1 light bulb.

Heres a few pictures just to give show how its going so far, im just curious to see if anyone else has ever tried just a single bulb for a single plant.

Yeah i grow seedlings with greatvalue but i use the 13watts.they do great untill plants get 1/2 weeks old.the harvest for that will be good for 1 joint.good experiment but its not efficient growing with that low power unless is a seedling.

Yes, I still currently use SILs, they work great for seedlings and supplemental lighting. I would advise to take off the plastic globe as it hinders the amount of light that comes out.

Off the shelf retail store screw-in LED and CFL bulb comparisons

If you're a CFL micro grower like me, I'm sure you've been seeing more and more LED bulbs appearing in your local box stores next to the CFLs. Maybe you're wondering, like I was, are these things any good for growing? I know my initial impressions from what I was seeing on the shelves, was no...

Edit: As someone mentioned, by taking the globes off you are removing a safety feature that shields you against 120v, which can be potentially dangerous. Please use caution.

The globe has another function. It shields the exposed contacts that have 120V on them.

Indeed. It is slightly dangerous but after doing research I have not heard of anyone getting really harmed. Just like everything we do, even DIY kits, they is a level of danger. I clipped the prongs that poke out on mine. The higher quality ge and Phillip's dont seem to have the more dangerous prongs tho. They have soldered connections that have silicone over them.

I have a 10 day old seedling under a 3w desk lamp, does that count? ;-)
I'd say you've outgrown your light. Add more bulbs, around 50w/square foot with those. And put something reflective around there.

$15 for a lux meter is money well spent....

Slow yellowish growth under vero 29 3000k/3500k

https://imgur.com/a/uLLbG Updated pics, lights on and off with camera flash. Turned down the lights to 200 watts total and they are 22" above the canopy... I wanna say the clone looks slightly better (back right) but the one on the back left is still pretty light colored with some curling...

Just posting an update with a few pics, havent bothered adding anymore light, i figured id just let it run its course and prepare better for my next grow.

You can just make a cone out of tinfoil around that bulb to aim all the light down onto the plant. You're losing more than half of the light like that.

So i bought a few cfls the other day and just wanted to ask if it would stress out my plant too much if i switched around the lights at this point during flowering or if i should just let it run its course and use the cfls on my next grow6000200390487.jpg

It's just a few watts, not mains power. The simple "driver" for the bulbs is located in the bulb stem behind/under the little round pcb the diodes are attached to.
