Do you all think bearded clams would sell? I’ve always thought clams dressed up would be a big seller.....bearded clam, clam bake (smoking a blunt), Klu klux Clam? Oh and ya that poll is bullshit.

I think you are just being crotchety about the survey, and instead of thinking more than a second about it you double downed on the fake outrage about some bullshit 'award'. lol and it is not even 'Time's person of the Year'.
Perhaps. But then I started thinking about how to use the word admire. I mean you can HATE Hitler but also admire the way he brought Germany out of a bad depression. Yes I cannot stand the man. Donald the Destroyer. He proceeded to destroy the farm industry, which by the way I've is still on subsidy . The soybean farmers will NEVER get back sales they previously had. China has gone other places. I know will pass a law to have every household buy a 50 lb bag of soybeans or grain every year.

Image result for farming subsidy payments

Farmers got more than $22 billion in government payments in 2019. It's the highest level of farm subsidies in 14 years. In 2019, the federal government delivered an extraordinary financial aid package to America's farmers.

And don't forget WE pay for all the tariffs he implemented. Right back into the government coffers.
I work in the machine shop industry we got smacked with an increase metal prices 5-25% which we cannot pass on to our customers.

Of course he's done great work with the stock market since 2009. No, wait, is that right? Well, that's when it started.
Hey how is everybody doing with their savings, 401k? Dump's doing fine and all his cronies. Hope your in.

Fortunately time heals all fools. once everybody, well most everybody, steps back and stops drinking the Kool-Aid, they'll realize what a horrible ride we just went for.

I agree with the shit job Trump has done.

I took issue with you saying that it discredited Gallop. It didn't, it was just a survey and they published the results. And from what happened in the election the 18% or so of the population that said they admired Trump wasn't that far off form the percent of our population that voted for Trump.

If you said that you took issue with the homogeneity (sameness) of the people with a phone willing to talk to a pollster long enough to get data has skewed the results, sure. But that is why statisticians give ranges. I am guessing from all the polls that I have looked at over the years that the results were not actually wrong over the last several elections, just that people were not understanding enough of this to know what it was that they were looking at.

Polls can be misleading at the best of times and completely fucked some of the time. Phone polls are the worst way to get an accurate picture depending on the question, also the demographic of the sample be it time of day, the size, the locations where people were home, how far the robin on your front lawn flew at 9am, can easily sway the outcome. I agree this poll didn’t take anything away from gallop, like you said, they just reported the results. But the results they posted could very well be bullshit depending on the way it was conducted. IMO the recent results of these polls has shown this time and again, polls don’t mean anything other than what the reader wants them to mean. It’s kind of like you saying Trump only received 18% approval by the population which makes it look like he is not very well liked but if you add Biden’s percentage in that sentence it turns out almost half, less 4.5% (of the votes) went to Trump, and that scares the hell out of me for your future.

I would be more worried if it wasn't for the information bubbles being so hardened and the actual news organizations waking up to this.

We have only really known about this attack on our citizens for not quite 2 years. And any ability to combat it has been knee capped by Trump being POTUS. Shit he even propagandized protests that he helped to spark to scare a lot of those people into thinking voting for him was a good idea. People don't need to like Trump to be more scared of the alternative (because of the lies they absorbed).

There is no question that it sucks ass, but people will have no choice but to be exposed to sanity over the next 4 years.

Then it just comes back to the issue we have been facing since Reagan and the Republicans closed down America's national mental health federal response.

But I would put money on the people that truly thinking Trump is admirable would fall into the range that Gallop reported. 18%+/- whatever range the stats spit out, I would guess about 23%-12%.

In my opinion it should be Dr. Anthony Fauci. Look at all he’s had to put up with at 80 years young.
Then Elon Musk I’d say. Not by me but some like the guy :eyesmoke:
Musk has been too deep in the propaganda for me. I would pick him over Trump though.

I could see maybe I am just seeing the instances of him getting sucked into propaganda and just by who he is amplifying it. But the demanding that he would break the quarantining efforts to open a factory was just too pushing the propaganda that has help lead to over 300k dead.

I could defiantly see Fauci. But I actually think Lebron has been one of the great leaders in 2020. Pelosi should be up there too, if it wasn't for her leading the house nothing would have been done over the last 2 years and Trump would have screwed everything up (new-NAFTA being fixed and finished by Pelosi for one would have been a mess if Trump just walked away because he is a baby and couldn't get Mexico to pay for his wall or whatever stupid wasteful *corrupt* favor he wanted added into the bill) worse than he has.

Which Regan was on watch when the Banking industry was deregulated. Anybody old enough to remember earning 5 1/4% your savings account. Now I earn a whopping .2%.

In 1980, Congress passed the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act, which served to deregulate financial institutions that accept deposits while strengthening the Federal Reserve's control over monetary policy.

But, back to the main topic. pick who you admire most. or add one.
Stalin
Hitler
Trump
Pol pot
Kim Jong-Un
Ghenghsi Kan
Nero
Putin

Do you remember the inflation rates during Reagan's time in office?

You mean in the 80's when the S&L banking collapsed after his deregulation?

I had a friend who bought a house with an interest rate of 14%. I thought he was nuts.
Though his house cost $40,000.00.
Ten years later I bought one for 150,000.00 with an interest of 8.25.

89-90.
Background. Throughout 1989 and 1990, the economy was weakening as a result of restrictive monetary policy enacted by the Federal Reserve. ... The immediate cause of the recession was a loss of consumer and business confidence as a result of the 1990 oil price shock, coupled with an already weak economy.
And of course our favorite. 2008. Again Banks.
With Pres Dump trying to tear apart Frank Dodd.

This is what we are?
No, that is what the idiot masses are. Why are we surprised by this? How many people do you encounter a day that make you wonder how they get through life? Problem is we have to stop giving them a voice. Their opinions do not matter, their desires do not matter.
